Well i must say, i am really pleased with Natwest so far! They called me today to ask me to come in and sign a form. And have given me my account number and sortcode!
Might sound like something small to some, but has made me happy today!
They were very quick, polite and helpful!0 -
Natwest is very good, I started with a step account and have progressed to a current account. Customer service is excellent and open 24 hours a day. I have tested that one! Internet site easy to use and the balance is 'real time' so no unexpected errors.
One thing to be mindful of. If a DD is due out on Monday it disappears from your account on Saturday. Even if you then deposit cash or transfer money into the account to cover any deficit you are still treated as overdrawn. Their charges on the step account are VERY HEFTY at the moment £38!!! for bouncing dd's and the charge comes out of your account the same day.
You can't do online payments either, but you can do standing orders and Direct debits.
Apart from that I have found the account to be excellent as long as you run it properly.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

hi my hubby aplied for the current account and was accepted in principe, he was aked to send off id?
so took it to local branch and they photocopied it and sent the forms of forhim, that was monday and he aint heard nothing yet?0 -
I opened a current plus account last Saturday on line received the form tuesday and sent it back the same day. I didn't need to send ID as I am already a customer. I have heard nothing since either and nothing has appeared on my online banking. I was hoping the account number would come by today so I can tell my employer before next months pay gets processed looks like I'll have to keep my old account open a little longer.0

as the weekend days are not working days, the accounts are made up after close of business Friday night to, in effect, Monday mornng, so on the weekend it will show on your bal BUT if you check your statement it will show as being debited on Mondays date & all funds to cover dd's must be in by the working day before to cover them, so a Friday is the last day to pay in to cover - shouldn't be a problem when you presumably know what date they are due out when you signed the agreement with the company who are taking your dd payment0 -
Well, i was really happy as was told that my account was open, and had been given an account number and sortcode etc. But after being away for the weekend, i get back and find that i have a letter telling me that they are unable to open my step account. Eventhough i was told i was firstly accepted in principle online, and told in the branch that it was open.
I feel so upset now, and really dont know what to do. Really need an account.0 -
hi dan thats awful being told you have the account then declined!
why dont you query this in the brtanch?
i have good news regarding my husband, he recieved letter today, saying hes been accepted for the current plus account , with cashcard which is a solo, but its a start.
i checked his credit report and a search was done on the 8th march, with experian, and the letter was dated the 8th as well, i really thought it would be a declined letter.0 -

After the trouble I had with Natwest and knowing I would have trouble getting an account opened, I tried Citibank and never looked back0 -
And now i have also been declined for a co-op cashminder account!
I really dont know what to do!0 -

Hi, Have you checked your credit report to see what information that is holding which may be preventing you from opening an account ..:happylove Tori Bellatrix :happylove
