excepted for the natwest step account!!!

Options
hi just needed a bit of advise!!
I applied for the natwest step account a few days ago,and was excepted in princible, recieved a copy of my application to sign and return which i did and this morning i have recieved a letter welcoming me to natwest and my new account number and sort code.
The only thing that worries me is underneath all the account info it says Card Type: Cashcard

I'm a bit confused as when i first read about this account from the threads on here im sure it said this account comes with a solo debit card. This was the reason for applying for the step account in the hope i could finally pay for my purchases by card instead of having to make trips to the cash machine all the time!!!

Has this happened to anyone else and do you know what card i will be recieving???
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!:

I've got a Step account and just looking at the Solo card I was sent, it says "Cash Card" on it also, so thats hopefully what they meant.

"Cashcard" means a Solo debit card... I don't think NatWest offer a simple cash-card (non-debit card) on their bank accounts.
  • The cashcard is your card for taking the money out of the hole in the wall, and it is used as your debit card.

You can use internet banking with the Step account, but some features are restricted... Don't know what these restrictions are, but if you phone them on 0800 88 11 77 they should be able to tell you!

I didn't have to send off any ID either as they did their ID checks electronically.

The layout of their internet banking is well designed & transferring money between accounts is easy as well. Transferring money from this account to my Citibank one took 2 days.

I applied for the Natwest Step account and confirmed with them twice that I was applying for the step account and not a current account.

Then received a letter in the post saying I had not been accepted for a current account

I've got a complaint in with them at the moment which they are currently dealing with as this left marks on my credit file...stupid Natwest
