Sukhumvit road has changed a lot in the last few years and is not as colourful as it was 15 years ago, my family and I stay there on every visit.

I am not fat, dont drink and most of the girls are not as young as you would suggest they are also not all sad either, at least no more than I am in my line of work.

Yes it is a wonderful country from your typical tourist point of view as you relax in your inexpensive (now why are they so reasonably priced?) hotel being waited on by (young looking) Thai female hotel staff catering and cleaning to your every need no doubt.

You know that PP was not directing his comments at you so I fail to see why it was necessary to provide you body statistics and make references to your social habits and employment.

The reality is that the sex industry is still booming in Bangkok - and nowhere more than the lower end of Sukhumvit. You cannot dispute that men of a certain age (you know the ones - those that a woman over here would not look twice at) don't go to to Thailand for the culture and sightseeing. And yes - many are bald, old, fat and European.

If you don't believe that - pop into the Bier Garten on Soi 7!

Many of those girls do have a sad life - they are miles from their home and family and sadly for many, make their money by selling their bodies.

You can walk down Sukhumvit Road any time of the day and see the types PompeyPete referred to.

I would suggest the most seedy area of Sukhumvit is Soi Arab (3) - but is no different from any city in the world which will invariably have such areas.
