How much..outside tap?

How much would you pay for a plumber to fit an outside tap up to a max of 3m copper tube with internal isolation valve (for winter) and outside bib tap suitable for screwing a house connector on to and for the work to be done at your convenience eg weekends ?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    Nothing. I would do it myself. There are kits available and everything, eg;

    A tenner.

    Admittedly, hose rather than copper pipe, but still.

    Have you had quotes? Have you asked any plumbers? For the cost of a phone call one of them could give you an approximate idea, surely!

    £70-£100

    Half a days work plus parts if straightforward

    Agreed - half a day - but a qualified plumber won't be charging £70 for half a day I can assure you!!

    Dont forget the non return valve and drainoffcock too.

    If you intend to attach a pressure washer to it at some point forget the £10 option stated above.

    £ 10 option is pants anyway and a false economy. IMHO not even half a day but I agree with the £ value for doing it at weekends.

    Cheers

    Rubbish. My pressure washer works fine from the above (installed by the previous owner, who was a bit of a bodger)

    ...£10, installed by a DIY idiot (not me, though I do consider myself in that category!), has lasted 3 years thus far with one replacement jubilee clip - running a pressure washer off it as well as a hosepipe. Water flow rate of 17l-min.

    ...total false economy, yeah... :rotfl:

    One replacement jubilee clip? So it's blown off at least once then?

    Nah, just a tad dribbly. Replaced as a precaution.

    Still, £10 + £1 for a new jubilee clip, works out a lot cheaper than the £80 other people have been quoting. I still laugh at the accusation of "a false economy"...
