Well, it works in firefox so that's a good start!

A much more professional and modern look but...

The simplicity of the current site does lend a certain unique naïve trustworthy quality whereas the new site has a sort of cold commercial look - I keep expecting it to try and sell me something if you know what I mean.

The forum link is really strage - it's not that it does not stand out, it's as if it was an afterthought when it's probably the best feature of the site.

A delight for sore eyes - what's good, gets better!

Impressive - and I think it better reflects what MSE stands for - professional, useful and friendly.

Just one quick observation as a newbie user, who sometime can't find where to look for ceratin information. You've got some snazzy tabs at the top of the home screen, all clearly labelled - yet the hover mouse message tells me (more or less) what's on the tab. How about the hover message being a mini list of the topics under each tab? For example the 'Protect your pocket' tab could list Debt, Tax, Money managment, etc. And which tab logically picks up techie stuff and computing - I'd have to try some to find out? [Some comprehensive and complex sites, eg Councils, have an A-Z index]

    All power to you, ATB

Just had a quick look. It looks very clear, colourful and attractive but I struggled to find the Chat Forum link which, as others have said, new people wouldn't know what to do. Just to nitpick for a moment, there is at least one spelling mistake immediately obvious on the front page (receive spelt wrongly) - I love copy checking so if you need any help, I'm your woman!

    :p
  • To be honest, I don't think it's that great. I'm not sure if you are planning to add RSS feeds later, but if you don't then you will be missing out.
