For gods sake, don't give them a kitten. They sound like a load of nutters. Why would they want another cat anyway if they can't even be bothered to get the one they have neutered. Best keep an eye on them when the kittens are bigger, they could turn very vicious.
I would love to see the faces of the police if you report this.

    some people are just bonkers!

you know, I'd be tempted to give her a bill for her share of the caring costs. She can't have them - tell her to jog on. Or, prove paternity! I know - swipe the inside of each kittens mouth and ask her to send them off (bud, not kitten lol) to be DNA tested. She is a silly woman.

(but I would also have my cat spayed to avoid any more Jeremy Kyle-esque confrontations).

Hi, you def need to report this incident to the police as they have no right to come round to your house and demand that you hand over kittens to them! Their behaviour is totally unacceptable and intimidating and from what you have said downright threatening! I think in cases like this you would speak to a Community Support Officer - you log all the details of the incident and it will then be on record in case anything (God forbod) should happen in the future. They don't necessarily have to challenge your neightbours if you're worried about things getting worsse, but at least they would be aware of what has happened and can be there to act if needs be.

I've had my freebie kitten from gumtree for just over 3 years now, and the spoilt little madam is lying beside me just now sleeping on her blanket (only due to not being in the mood to evict the laptop, but give it a while).

So not everyone who gets a freebie gets fed up, and not everyone who pays keeps the kitten either, again check free ads, and usually quite few there around 6 months offered to a "good" home for a price or have to be given up due to "alergies" or "baby on the way" etc, etc...

Oh and call the police, their behaviour is a joke!

Good for you, I have much loved freebie cats too. However not all owners are as responsible so charging a fee is recommended to deter irresponsible owners and unscrupulous people who could abuse the animal, use it for breeding or even as bait for dog fighting!

Responsible owners should not be put off by paying a small fee whereas irresponsible or unscrupulous people might be so charging for the kittens doesn't mean the OP is deliberately breeding them for money.

I love your come back that if the neighbour's cat is responsible for getting yours pregnant she should be responsible for half the vets bills! However it hasn't put her off so I would inform the police about the harassment and keep a diary of the incidents, like the neighbours banging on the door, screaming at you etc. I know their behaviour seems silly but it is important to take it seriously. I am glad to hear that your cat is a house cat, I think that is safest in case the neighbours were to take it out on her. Don't let them have any of the kittens! It's good that you are doing the right thing by waiting till the kittens are ready to go to new homes, vetting the homes and charging a fee. Do get your cat neutered after the kittens have gone. Even if she is normally indoors, as you've seen accidents can happen and neutering also prevents various illnesses. I hope everything works out, let us know how it goes.

I thought I would throw this into the mix.

In pedigree breeding circles a 'stud' fee and terms have to be arranged beforehand, that is, a fee for the boy's services arranged before mating. So it seems logical to me that as no such arrangement was made and the neighbour (owner of the un-neutered boy from next door) let out the said boy to roam free. Thereby allowing him to do what comes naturally, in this case allegedly mate with your cat.

Each one of the kittens from the litter could possibly have a different father, as your girl, would have accepted mating from any of her suitors. So the neighbour has consented to allow her cat's services to be free by allowing him out un-neutered. One, some, all or none of the kittens may be fathered by her cat. If she want to continue to dispute this she could pay for a DNA test per kitten (about £26 per kitten) but it still doesn't mean that she has any claim on the kittens. In pedigree breeding circles the owner of the kittens is the owner of the dam at the time of birth.

The fact that the neighbour is perceived by you as being threatening means that they are being threatening and therefore an offence. You should contact the police about the matter.

The mind boggles at these people .. talk about chavtastic, hahaa These people are clearly not from the strongest gene pool!

Tell them to do 1 or you will call the police for threatening behaviour. Then report it with the police and call the RSPCA, tell them there is a stray tom harrassing the local cats and if they would be so kind as to catch him up, neuter and rehome you would be very thankful ;)

Also i obviously have to say NO EXCUSE for not getting your queen speyed regardless of her being an indoor cat ... but you already know your stupid for not doing that so too late now but it must be done and she must not go out again until she is speyed (should you wish to let her out with scumbags like that as your neighbours!)

Keep us posted, its quiet amusing hearing about trailertrash nieghbours :rotfl:
