Keveen, just to make sure I understad cos I am so dense with technology..... to do what I want its Ipad onl really then? I was also hoping for sub £200“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0

Correct - that's not the new one. Apparently there won't be an Aurora II. The nearest thing is the Ainol Novo 7 Advanced II from Amazon. And now there is another one! Ainol Novo 7 Aurora II Mars http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/150799005974?var=lv<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar&cbt=y0 -
May seems to be the month for new tablets - so many it's becoming ridiculous. Unfortunately we can't actually try before we buy unless you live near one of the UK suppliers - some of them actually are shops with premises.
To complicate matters furtherI see that Amazon Kindle and and Barnes & Noble NOOK Tablet are actually Android tablets that can be turned into standard Android tablets by removing the ebook interface. Depends on what your needs are and how secure you are following hacking instructions. I found a good overview site here - http://blog.the-ebook-reader.com/

(oops, thats soo cheeky but if you dont ask you dont get?!!?)“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. No you can do all you want on the tablets listed here - just bear in mind that my list are nearly all 7". So the decision is between 7" or the larger 9 or 10 inch. You can get a good idea of the differences of course from PCWorld and the like - might even find a bargain.
Actually the choice is now starting to drive me mad. I was perfectly happy with my Xoom until it stopped working.
I'm still hovering over the Buy buttons of the HYUNDAI A7HD or the Samsung (GPS is the draw)0 -
Keveen, thankyou for taking the time to reply. I am happy with a 7" (fill in your own comments!!), but think PC world trip would be a good idea.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. I've got a Lenovo A1 (£150 amazon, sometimes). It's only single core 1MHz, and runs 2.34 (stock), but there is an active dev community putting CM7 on (i8mprovement on stock rom, have overclocked to 1.15MHz), and there is some progress on ICS, though a bit slow.
It's possible that Lenovo are planning to update the A1 at some time, as they are with the K1 (10" dual core).
Falls over on some other of your parameters... not n wireless, not IPS.0 -
OK I bit the bullet and ordered the most expensive - Samsung. The Hyundai was tempting - especially that metal alloy casing and IPS screen. I wish I could buy both - total self indulgence of course...Anyway if I do receive another faulty one (even happens to Samsung) then I will straightaway get my money back and buy the Hyundai. It was the GPS that got me. It had better last a couple of years!!0

Yes but I see it has GPS and runs iplayer. Maybe you could post your experience of using it? Does it really run Iplayer and Youtube video smoothly? Battery life etc0 -
I don't own a tablet yet but was looking at the Scroll Extreme: http://www.ebuyer.com/344245-scroll-extreme-tablet-pc-54242
and the Yarvik GoTab Zetta: http://www.ebuyer.com/367487-yarvik-gotab-zetta-tablet-pc-tab467euk
What I like about those models:
HDMI output.
Expandable memory (Micro SD)
Good support for various video formats
RJ 45 connector for the Yarvik
Flash Support
Not Apple0
