dear granny, how I feel for you. The huge let down after the euphoria of seeing and hugging your daughter must be soul shattering. I cried after an hour long chat with my daughter in Australia.
Selfishly I have missed you on this diary and just about every other one on the threadIt's good that you're back, but horrible that you're sad.
Tomorrow's Friday, perhaps we could all welcome you back with a virtual glass of wine or two?

I love the lot of you, it is lovely to have such support and understanding. I am away for a week from tomorrow, so won't be able to post but just knowing you are all there for me is comforting.
DD is currently out of contact as she has gone to America for a week before going back to Oz. Her mobile doesn't work and she is staying with a friend so probably can't spend too much time online. I always miss her but this time have felt it more than normal. We saw each other every day for 2 weeks and dropping her off at the airport yesterday was heart wrenching. I then drove 200 miles to come home to work and just couldn't settle down to doing anything. So it's lucky I'm away next week.
I will be fine but it has made me realise again that OH needs to shake himself to be more of a companion or Granny may seek that comfort elsewhere.Targets

I'm back, having had a lovely week away relaxing in the sun. The weather was gorgeous and I did little more than lie by the pool every day and drink in the bar and eat in the local restaurant every evening. I ate too much and drank far too much sangria and Guinness, (not together I must add) and have refrained from getting on the scales as I fear they may cease working under protest.
The best thing was I spent zilch, having refused to give into the self-imposed pressure of feeling that I should contribute to the holiday in some way.
We bought a doll each for the DGDs in one of the little local gift shops. I even managed to get a deal as the shop keeper took a shine to me and decided I should have them buy one get one free because I was so nice. I have to say it bought a smile to my face, it was such a lovely thing for him to say.
I feel so much more relaxed than I did 2 weeks ago and have got over the overwhelming feeling of sadness I was suffering when DD left.
I have just made my lovely lasagne for tea tomorrow and Monday, (it always tastes nicer twice baked) and a big saucepan of leek and potato soup for lunches. OH has actually agreed to try my lasagne and bought lots of lovely winter veg for us to eat over the next week.
Anyway, I hope this post finds you all well. I'll be back daily now, its going to take me a week to catch up on all your diaries.
Lots of love, its nice to be back.

Hello my lovelies, oops I seem to have gone missing again for a couple of days. Well laid plans and all that. I've had a good week but not a very frugal one as I decided to do my Christmas shopping. HE is back in work but wasn't too bad yesterday.
I have just given in and having spent £20 on a cosmetic box for me, was pleased to receive a £30 gift card with it, (no minimum spend). The products were ones used by the spa that DD and I went to on her last weekend at home and she considered buying me a face cream at the time. She will be so pleased when I tell her I bagged myself a bargain instead. I've just ordered a £40 gift box, (with 4 free extra samples) free P&P, all for the princely sum of £10. I've sent it to myself as a memory of our spa day. (I actually fancied this gift box in the spa) The products due are worth well in excess of the £30 I have spent in total.
