Welcome home Granny. You've been missed.
What a lovely relaxing holiday you had. Shame about the thunderstorms and heavy rain but it doesn't seem to have halted your plans any.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

Hi Granny - Grand that you had a great time oop North. If I might make a suggestion ... I stayed at 1 Brewed YHA last week and paid £25.50 for bed, full english and a mug of hot chocolate. There is a residents kitchen, so you could bring your own food. It was simply lovely and well worth the £5 bargain membership I got last August after reading the MSE newsletter.
I think I shall be renewing at the end of the month and sampling some more of the lovely hostels around the UK and maybe even abroad. For those who think you have to walk into a YHA and hide the car, and do dishes ... it's all a lie to keep the place nice for people who are happy to have breakfast with strangers in PJs and no shoes0 -

Whilst I was away I received 2 letters one from H^lifax DC confirming they had accepted my offer of payment, (I know you told me 2 weeks ago!!!) but insisting that payment be made within 28 days, despite my already arranging payment date for 1st of month. Sorted now as I gave in and rang them to change it.
The other letter was from M&S who confirmed my agreement with them had expired - !!!!!! - we agreed a 12mth plan in Feb so by my reckoning I've got another 6mths to go. Again I decided to bite the bullet and rang them to discuss. They confirmed it was a clerical error and have now reset it to expire next Feb.
I checked my Noddle account and found that H^lifax is now defaulted which is good news as now the clock for it to disappear off my record starts. Also all charges and interest have ceased as of 1st August, so my debt should start reducing finally.
DGDs about to descend upon Granny for a few hours of fun.

Welcome back from your holidays, Granny. I'm all caught up on the last few pages now.
Your holiday sounds fab. Well done on the frugalness and money saving! We should all aspire to such dizzy heights of MSE-ness0 -

Hello my dear, so nice of you to join me. :hello:Not so frugal today, got up late for my 1st day back to work and really couldn't be ars3d to make lunch, not much in the way of lunch type food stuff in the house anyway and so bought food in T3sco. Only spent £3 which included a 6 pack of crisps for 95p instead of 65p for 1 bag and a salad for £1.70 instead of salad and olives/cheese costing £3 so a LSD instead.
Feeling very tired tonight as work was pretty busy, trying to catch up on all the urgent stuff that crops up when you've been away for >2wks. Was going to go shopping tonight on way home but shattered so may/probably go tomorrow instead.
Nothing much else to report today so quick joke to follow

A man sat down at a bar and told the bartender, "I bet you three hundred dollars that I can p!ss into the cup all the way over there on the other side of the bar and not miss a single drop." The bartender said, "There is no way you can do that. Sure, I'll bet you three hundred dollars." The man then begins to undo his pants and begins p!ssing. He starts p!ssing all over the bar, spraying on the bottles and the bartender, not making a single drop in the cup. The bartender starts smiling and laughing and says, "That's it, you owe me three hundred dollars." The man then gets up and walks over to the pool table and starts laughing and shaking hands with the men standing there. He walks back to bar, sits down and starts laughing at the bartender and hands him the money. The bartender asks, "Why are you laughing? You just lost the bet." The man said, "I'm laughing because I bet those guys over there one thousand dollars that I could p!ss all over you and your bar and you would still be laughing when I was done."Targets

Can't believe I forgot to tell you all that DGD2 took her first proper unaided steps yesterday. However, if you draw her attention to the fact, she looks at you in disgust and promptly plops down and crawls instead as though to show you how silly you are.Targets
