Hum. Good plan to be after a second opinion - let's hope doctor is more accommodating. Might be worth telling them about your not wanting to be around you - could make the point.

Hope you get it sorted and soon. Are you on Vitamin D? Are you taking other vits etc? If so stop them and do one at a time in case are acting against each other.

Think you use the MFP app? Could be worth tracking iron in food???

Hope littleun makes an appearance soon - time for a curry and long walk?

Chin up you are doing great.

Dear friends it is so nice to have you caring about me, I'm aware I'm not very good company atm but I'm trying, (very much so OH would say :p) :)

I'm on multi vits provided by DD who is a nutritionist so I know they are good. She's baffled by the lack of support by my gp and has asked for my results so she can get a colleague's advice. I eat lots of iron rich foods and try to get some natural light every day.

Eye is less inflamed today, I could hardly see by about 9pm last night and had a bad head as a result. Used tired eyes compress today and that helped. Wish I had one for body/mind fatigue too

Feel less blue but still not myself, very cold, tired, teary plus sore throat - not nice. Shoot me now someone please

Keep thinking its Friday tomorrow, not that I'm wishing my life away or anything

Have made a list of how I'm feeling to take to drs next week. He's quite sensible so fingers crossed I get somewhere

    Nsd #3 today ;)

  • Aw Granny, I can tell by your posts you're not ok. I recommend this to everyone (and you've probably seen me do so :o ) and I would recommend to you some meditation. I was severely depressed when I started doing it and after 12 weeks I stopped my prozac one day (came straight off for which I got a telling off) but i was honestly fine, calmer, could see clearer and felt better about everything in general. They do some fabulous guided ones on amazon for around 60 p so quite mse too ;) and even if it does nothing but lull you to sleep at first I would still recommend till i'm blue in the face. :) big (((hugs))) for you xxxx

granny you could have something like me. It tooks years to get a diagnosis. I would try another doctor who will actually listen to you. I hope you are feeling better soon.

And hopefully a new baby very soon too.

Dear Pooh, do you mind me asking what you were diagnosed with? I'm not sure if you have mentioned it previously, so apologies if so.

My DD is really concerned because I'm just not myself. I have yet another cold that is giving me headaches, sore throat and coughing. I'm so not normally like this, it's really waring. I went to bed at 7:30 last night and then got up at 9:30 when OH came home and we watched the Apprentice. Cue me still awake at 2am

I was going to go into work today and work from home tomorrow but I just feel too rough. Still at least I can work from home and if needs be I'll ask big boss if can work from home again tomorrow. HE isn't in until next Tues so no pressure there. Hoping for a nsd but may have to go out and get lems1p.

Hope you all have a good day, chat later

Granny you sound so poorly. I really hope that when you talk through your list of how you feel with the doctor he can give you something to help.

Hopefully you will have some lovely baby news shortly to make you feel a little happier .

Thanks all, I need your support and kind words at the mo to keep me going

DFW I will look into the meditation idea, if it helps even the slightest I'll be grateful

Big boss has agreed to my working from home tomorrow, which is a real plus as otherwise I think I may have had to go sick again. My chest is so bad tonight.

Today wasnt a nsd as I paid 40p to get my blood tests printed out so I could send them to DD. I've also joined a private health care via work, whilst I cant use it fully for 6 months, it can be used for gp advice and after 6 months can even be used for pre-existing conditions. At £7 per month I figured it was worth it

Feel so out of sorts, its really not funny. Worried about little one arriving and not being able to visit him because of yet another viral infection. My immune system just seems shot to h3ck right now.

Anyway its Friday tomorrow and unless DGS arrives I plan to relax as much as poss

Darling granny I'm so sorry you're feeling so rough. Definitely a good idea to join the private health scheme. I used to be in one and certainly got my money's worth when I broke my right hand side. The physio alone came in at £20k

    Hello Granny, :hello:

Every time I see your thread near the top of the page, the inevitable thought bubbles up: "Ooh, wonder if..." But no, not yet; hanging in there, isn't he [DGS]?

It's horrible when you don't 'feel right' but have no idea why, isn't it? 40p seems like a real bargain* to get hold of your blood results; am glad you have a knowledgeable DD who can check what has actually been looked at, and hopefully spot any glaring omissions. If so, good luck with persuading your GP that extra [probably more expensive] tests are needed..
    * Cost me £50 to acquire a copy of DH's notes when we were trying to get a proper diagnosis for him!

Meditation is invaluable for reducing stress; well worth learning a couple of simple techniques. ;)

I belong to the same health-care scheme, thanks to DH's employer. Found them to be very good for providing a second opinion when the NHS queues are too slow.

Hope you are able to enjoy a quiet day to 'recharge your batteries' today, Granny. :)
