I am not promoting anyone, just don't see why people have to be so against paying for a service. I paid to have my car cleaned yesterday, could have done it myself. I can cook, but happy to go to a restaurant and have a meal made for me. It seems very shallow to pick on cmc's, who highlighted this whole issue in the first place and without whom, banks would still have £billions of our money, yet others jump on the bandwagon and make themselves out to be our savours !

CMCs did NOT highlight it in the first place. They are merely cashing in on it. Have you experienced their spam texts or the misleading adverts? Just how naive are you??? How about I clean your car and you have to pay me 20% of the value of your car?

Its amazing how people keep complaining about cmc's continually promoting themselves through text's and adverts without realising that its this continual promotion of miss-selling that has not only bought awareness and prompted people to claim but has also forced the banks to surrender and payout !
And I'm the naive one !
Its also amazing how people can be so rude on here, obviously the truth hurts !

They didn't make the banks "surrender" or force them to do anything. I think you'll find it was the FSA.

Sending unsolicited texts to people's mobiles telling them they are due a PPI refund of £10k when they have no access to their personal information and are just fishing isn't the way to promote a cause or bring attention to something for the greater good. It's a good way to boost your profit line

How was it the FSA ? They only got involved after it was highlighted.

Sending unsolicited texts is wrong and those companies should be named and shamed but every industry has rogues. You can't brand them all the same, MSE is full of sweeping statements in pursuit of its own gain.
