worried about mole

not sure this is the correct board for this but i always get good advice here

ive had a mole on my stomach for quite a while but just recently ive started to worry about it even though it hasnt got bigger or anything..im sure it feels more raised than it used to though

going to go to the doctors about it but just wondered if anyone had any advice in the meantime..have looked on nhs website at images and to me it doesnt look like any on there..not sure if thats a good or bad sign tbh

I have a similar thing, except I was born with my mole to the right of my belly button. It's more raised than normal but only ever so slightly.

I'll mention it the next time I go to the GP.

I know what you mean about images. Alot of them show massively raised moles.

The quack will tell you straightaway whether it's anything to worry about or not. TBH, it's not something we can really reassure you about - we can't see it, and even if we could, the interweb just ain't the place for mole analysis!

My OH had a mole that became more and more raised as time went on. He mentioned it to the doc - absolutely nowt to worry about. Some moles do grow like that. Doesn't mean they're cancerous. Malignant melanoma is really quite distinctive and most don't look like a raised mole.

You're pg, LM. The increased oestrogen can make your moles appear darker and more prominent. Obviously get yourself checked out if you're concerned though.

This was on embarrassing bodies the other night, they said if it's jagged, bleeding or got bigger that's a sign..

I worry about moles I've got as I went travelling in Asia in my early 20's I got very burned and never used suncream so I understand..
Perhaps if you don't want to bother the doctor with it does your surgery have a practice nurse, they'd know if it's something of concern..
I always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...

go to the doctors, I had one the year before last that came out of nowhere and matched 3 of the criteria. It was removed but was nothing thankfully, yours will probably be the same. Let us know x

If anything worries anyone mole wise a quick check with a qualified professional is the way to go. One of the rules of the forum is about not posting medical advice for good reason, OP get the doc to check it out.

    I know :p but I had it before I was pregnant. :p

I noticed it myself months ago and DH noticed it too but it's only when you touch it that it seems raised, if that makes sense?

    I'll mention it anyway. :)

    Thank you. :D

It's pretty much only confined to the "Less Than 12 Weeks Pregnant" thread because I'm only 10 weeks and so many days (I find it hard to remember the days bit!). Only two more weeks and then I can hopefully tell people.:D
