I made some Mash on Friday night and wondered whether it will still be OK for my tea tonight. I just added cheese and butter - can I microwave it for my tea later?
Many thanks.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

I'd eat it Skysky;) Microwaving will be fine although personally I'd fry it up so that it goes all crispy and brown. :drool:0

I find it can go off very quickly even with just butter and milk and kept in the fridge covered. If it looks a little bit slimy (apologises to anyone eating) I wouldn't risk it.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

Reheated potatoes are horrible, but mash can make great potatoes cakes or bubble and squeak, with left over greens. Just form into cake shapes and fry.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
I'd eat it too. I have a bit of a 3 day rule with cooked food...don't know why though.
Unless its something renowned for food poisoning like prawns or something like that then I wouldn't leave them that long. Mash however, I would eat.

Pop it in the oven to warm up and allow it to go toasty on top! Yummy, my rule is if it smells ok, its alright to eat! lolDebt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0

I recently started reheating mash in a pan with milk & butter over a low heat - much better than watery micro job. It goes really smooth.0

I reheated some mash on Sunday that had been in the fridge since Thursday, just added a little bit more milk and a bit of butter then when it was piping hot I added grated cheese - Yummy. But I did read a tip recently that if you have left over mash add a bit more milk before putting in the fridge then it reheats just fine as is :-)0

I feel I really must come to the defence of poor old microwaved mash.
I mash mine in a big glass Pyrex bowl with milk and butter, the left overs get covered with cling film which can go into the microwave as is. The secret is not to do them on too high a setting and in short burst of two minutes and fluff them up in between. Perfect for left over casserole.Woofles you need to get out of that house.
