Make slices of it (1-2cm thick) and lightly fry. Makes mash potato crisps, awesome!

Oooh I love the sound of this as I don't actually like mash potato.

Thank you everyone for your tips.

Can anyone else confirm about potato being as bad as rice in terms of food poisoning? I've never heard this before, but I need to be careful as my husband comes down with food poisoning/tummy bugs quite often. I will go and google to see if I can come up with any info.

The only thing I've been able to find so far is something about not mixing dairy products with potatoes - and then reheating. Potato salad crops up with relation to food poisoning, but I can't find anything potato specific. So I'll definitely give the chilling/freezing a go.

The other thing I do, is make duchess potatoes (piped shapes) and potato croquets (sp?) sometimes adding cheese for variation. They all freeze well. Sometimes I defrost, sometimes I pop them straight into the oven.

Would love to know how you make the croquets, yum!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Really nice if you add black pepper and creme fraiche too ... or lots of grated cheese; you could mix in cheese, put in into greased ramekins and heat in the oven until bubbling .. they would be very scrummy

I don't think this is the site where I originally read the info. but it gives a bit of detail - I suppose any food that isn't stored properly will inevitably lead to an upset tummy though....

Take some mash, form into desired shape. Dip in beaten egg, coat in breadcrumbs, then either open freeze or cook off in the oven.

These can be varied as much as your imagination and tastebuds. The kids love cheese, cheese & bacon, tuna & sweetcorn, ground nuts and parsley.

Im gonna start doing a meal planner for a weeks meals in advance. What is the best way to reheat mash potatoes (worried they willl dry out). I may chill or freeze depending on whether my meals need mash that week.
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.
