Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Sunny here this morning so the WM is on, hopefully the washing will dry quickly today.
Hubby is working this afternoon & will watch the GP qually today & he's itching to get back out in the garden, he spent a few hours our there yesterday afternoon. The dwarf runner bean plants & dwarf peas are both flowering & the potatoes are coming on well too.
I shall do some housework & some more crochet & lots of sitting about, it's been a very busy week at work & I've started work at 6:30 as we are short staffed in admin & I've taken on an extra duty & as we are short of lunchtime controllers, so now do one every day. It helps make up for the money I lost when I gave up 1st aid duty.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning all,
It seems ages since i last posted, the week has just flown by.
It drizzled a little bit when i took the dog out for a walk this morning but other than that it was bright and sunny. I'll hang the washing out in a few minutes. The laundry bins are full so i'll take advantage of a bright day i think. I'll get all of the housework done too, so hopefully i won't have to do too much tomorrow.
Tea tonight is fish with new potatoes and salad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Lovely sunny morning here, the WM is doing its stuff as i type, many more loads can go on today so hopefully it will stay sunny.
Yesterday was a horrible day - my meeting with boss and HR was cancelled but was only told after I had been sat waiting for 45 mins! came home to have a look behind the dishwasher where I thought I heard scratching the night before to discover that mice have been holding a party down there. Had to take off all the kick boards to give it a good clean and set traps. Went to take a bin bag outside and then saw a stoat! Went out to buy more traps as last year one of them came into the loft and caused a lot of damage. I was glad to go to work after that!
Anyway, DD off to a wedding at lunch time so I will be a taxi for her I expect. Going to finish scrubbing the kitchen and see what else the day brings.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Morning all.
Blue sky and sunshine ATM :T:T
Plans are to do some much needed tidying in the garden, grass needs cutting again and it all needs a good weeding and general tidy. Need to see about roping H in to help
Off to walk Luna in about half an hour, she's currently back on her bed and snoring :rotfl:
Tea will be pizza for the kids and HM chicken burger and wedges for me and H.
Marie hugs xxx
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a lovely Saturday OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning :j
All that rain that fell and filled up the reservoirs will be going straight back down the drains today as everyone runs their WM's at full pelt:rotfl: I never thought I would get excited about a line full of washing blowing in the breeze - I think I might take a photo to see me through the next bout of rainy days:D
Will get DD out of her pit in a minute. She is doing a voluntary stint at the local Sally Army CS as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award. She is not very confident around new people so I am so proud of her for managing this part of the challenge. The best bit was when she came home last Saturday and said she was enjoying it so much that she would probably carry on after her three months were up :T
Has anyone popped in to 'see' Rhonda this morning? The website has gone all doo-lally.
 Nearly 8 a.m. Must get up and get going.

Good Morning All
Its a beautiful morning in EssexJust sitting here surfing and enjoying a coffee in the peace and quiet as both kids still in bed.
Going to have a nice day today, will obviously do some washing which can be line dried :j. Apart from that wont make any plans for housework - will just potter. DD needs dropping at the station later as is going to the pictures with friends. DS is playing football at a local funday, hope they have some nice stalls to mooch around.
We got a new member of the family yesterday, have thought about getting a kitten for some time but they have either all gone before I have got there or they are ridiculous money. Well when we were out and about yesterday saw a sign go up. Stopped and now have a lovely grey and white male kitten called Tommy who is 9 weeks old. Kids were so happy when they got home, older cat is not so impressed at the moment :rotfl:
Well thats all my news for now, hope you all have a great day & get to enjoy some sunshine.x0 -
Morning all!
Gorgeous weather this morning!WM is on, (with washing soda and vinegar, plus a little bit of normal powder - this site has saved me SO much money!) and we're going to the May Fayre later, which will be lovely in the sun.
Unfortunately I have an essay to write this weekend, so am planning to do that this morning and tomorrow morning, then get out and about in the afternoons. The garden is desperate for attention!
BM is on, when that finishes I'll be putting a chicken curry in the SC for tonight, with extras to freeze (they share a plug socket - we have a very small kitchen!)
Marie, I hope you have news of Kerry soon xx
Have a good day allCBx

Morning Guys!
Well its NOT raining...a miracle:D
Nurses have been and my headache has shifted which I'm grateful for. Im wondering if some was stress related? But, Im feeling a little more positive today and am hoping to go to a National Park for lunch for a couple of hrs with OH & DD. They do lovely lunches and its not too bad with the wheelchair. They also have a huge 4x4 electrical scooter and if its free, I may try that out.....im feeling brave today:rotfl:
B-Scrambled egg with cheddar and 2 WM toast with butter/marmite.
L-Out hopefully
D-Chicken, mini roasts and veg
Im hoping that our run of bad luck has finished. DD had a cheque through from her college this morning for £245, so she's buying her camera lens she needs.
WM & DW done.
Anyway, hope you're all well.

Morning All
I am another one who is actually looking for washing to do:rotfl::rotfl:
DH and DS have got to go and get some bits from Wickes today to refit the pantry with new shelving, so that I can actually get to stuff without too much trouble, it is definitely getting harder and harder to do some of the things that I used to not even think about
I need to go round and get some fruit and veggies from our local GG he is only round the corner so I will do that on my scooter. Anything too heavy and he pops it round to the house for me, don't get that sort of service in a supermarkup the stuff is fresher and lasts longer, so worth a few pence more, he also does eggs straight from a local farm too and we quite often get double yolks
Marie ((((((Hugs)))))) I hope you find Kerry soon x
Oh well got to put second load of washing on the line :j :rotfl:
BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
