Well, you lot are such an inspirational bunch that I've slightly amended tonight's plan for me & the OH... I've put leftover toms, onions & red pepper to roast in the oven, topped with olive oil & basil leaves. I'll then make this into a soup with a lonely potato that needs using up. Going to make jumblejack's herby cheese bread to go with the soup. Then after that we'll have the whoops chicken breasts meal. The only thing I need to go out for is chives from the garden for the bread
So fingers crossed, I know it's still a bit early, but maybe this could be a NSD?!
Thank you everyone :beer:No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries May 2025

I am really pleased with myself because I have had a NSD and it would have been so easy to have gone to the shops.
Firstly we ran out of goodies, so the kids were moaning. I said that we could make cookies (with a blackened banana) but there was no interest. So I said that if I made the cookies solo, I would only be sharing them with DH. It is amazing how quickly the tv was turned off and two kids were helping me cook.
Secondly, DH came home from work early and I knew he was angling for either a take away or to go out for dinner so I prepared tea whilst he was on his way home :j
A good day in all.If Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters0 -

We had loads of eggs, lettuce, yoghurt, herbs, spring onions, baby plum tomatoes, fresh chilli and mushrooms to use up.
I made a herby frittata (also using a couple of potatoes shredded and squeezed to get he moisture out), shredded and dressed lettuce and fried mushrooms!
Sounds like a throw together meal (well, i guess it is!!) but it tastes fab!
edit:
Whoops, the pictures seem huge. If these cause a problem, let me know and I will delete them!!
oh YUMMY!!!! i could eat that right now !0 -

Anyone know if you can freeze JJ's Herby Cheese Bread? Otherwise I'm going to explode.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
I am experimenting with JJ's herby cheese bread! I have got a gluten allergy and am lactose intolerant, so have made it with gluten-free self raising flour, soya spread and soya milk, with no cheese. It's in the oven as I type, will post back the results! Fingers crossedOfficial DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

You can literally pull it out of the freezer in the morning, wham it in a food bag, pop it in your lunch box and have it at dinnertime!!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Oooh is there a recipe for Balsamic Beef Casserole? Sounds nice.
I don't see why you couldn't freeze JJ's Herby Cheese Bread? I regularly freeze bread in portions so that I don't overeat it!Official DFW Nerd no. 082! :cool:Debt @ 01/01/2014 £16,956 Debt now: £0.00 :j

I managed 68 twinks hobnobs last time and froze then in bags of 12 - they are just as good after freezing as when fresh - texture doesn't alter at all!May GC 433.32/ 350  Apr GC 263.43 /300
