WEnt to Mr M's for some of these 20p chick peas and toms- they didnt have any
So got 2 half price m*ller corners 28p each, pack 4 Tw*rls £1 (must stop buying carp) and a tub of hummus for 5p (YS) :j
There was loads of hummus for 5p does anyone know if it can be frozen? I only brought 1 tub as i wasnt sure
Hi
I freeze hummus all the time - occasionally when it defrosts, it separates, just give it a stir, but mostly I find it defrosts just fine, and no loss of flavour/texture. At 5p a tub, I'd have snapped them all up

I've set our budget for my first month of the grocery challenge as £150! It starts tomorrow which is pay day and is to include all food, including meals out, and any other household stuff like cling film, bin bags, cleaning products etc. I'm hoping this is quite realistic as we have quite a bit of food in the cupboards/freezer still; I'm also hoping to sell some stuff on ebay to make £30 for an approved food order.
I'm also setting a petrol budget of £150, which started today (because I wasn't quite sure I'd make it home from my friend's otherwise!) £47.03/£150.
We're moving house next month, as well as saving for a big trip next year so money is going to be pretty tight for the rest of the year really.
Quick question, do people think this look good value?
Freezer Pack
1,5lb Chicken Fillet
1lb Best Mince
1lb Pork Chops
1lb Frying Steak
1lb Diced Steak
1lb Premium Sausage
400g Back Bacon
Only..£20.00
I got a flyer through the door from a butcher near me. How many chicken breasts would = 1.5lb? And would 1lb sausages be about 6/8? And 400g bacon 8 slices? Can't decide if it would be worth us getting this, we don't really eat many meals based on red meat, and I can't even remember the last time I ate a pork chop (as a child definitely!), so it would probably last a while!
Good luck for July everyone, and well done to those who have succeeded with their June challenge!
I struggle with visualising things like this too. Is it worth a trip to the butchers to ask what exactly the freezer pack does include...I'm sure they'd be pleased to help.

That's not sad! I dream of having an empty enough freezer that I can organise that way! Well done you.I had thought I might sneak to Ald! today but have changed my mind. I don't have a list so would end up getting all sorts. Need to meal plan first and list, then I can go tomorrow.
So today will be a NSD.KatyReed+5 wrote: »Thanks, just realised the money i will save on feeding him will now will be spent on comfort eating, damn it.
Katy.
Sorry to hear your news. Will it be any harder dealing with all the children by yourself? Take care, and make sure you get enough downtime. When my ex first left me, I used to spend all evening and a lot of the night doing household jobs, and my health suffered. Please make sure you get enough sleep. xx
Not the planned for nsd today. at myself. Not sure of actual spend, as I added in some birthday cards, wrapping paper, cookbooks and random other stuff. Did get a good ys deal though. Pack of 12 cumberland posh sausages, reduced from £4.39 (who would pay that?!) to £1.10. Got three packs. I'll work out the total damage tomorrow; I'm off to bed now!

He's staying at a friends from work tonight. I don't really know what's happened, we've just drifted apart really, it's been rocky for at least 6 months, but it's still come as a shock, i'm just feeling really sad
