    Mmmmm. Bunched carrots.

Don't forget to use the carrot greens too! They go lovely when added to carrot soup. I like to grow carrots, purely for the foliage!!!:j

Well I really didnt know you could eat carrot tops, I grow carrots but always give the tops to the guinea pigs.

you learn so much on here.

Editing to say, thinking about all the people on here going through difficult times.

Does anyone else's OH just not get the idea? And does anyone else have to be the meanie in the shop saying we're not buying X, Y & Z?

Ah, it's at times like this that I really miss my ex oh!! NOT!!! He was rubbish with money, and I know I'd still be in a lot of debt now if I was still there... On the flip side, though, I have only myself to blame for things going wrong...

Well, I managed to do the weekly shop today for only £11.97! I walked all the way to lid! and back as well, so good exercise. (Had to walk, as my car was decidedly worse for wear! It's ok now though.)

    Meg - sending prayers...

Just popping into to say I'm sorry to hear about your mother meg72 - my thoughts are with you. :(

Went to the gym today (got a bit carried away actually - 3 hours, including a 1 hour spin class and I am going to really going to feel the pain tomorrow!). Dinner was the leftover Jamies meatballs from yesterday which were AMAZING - so NSD today. :T

Two nsd here. I was out yesterday but that was my ents budget, not groceries.

Meg I'm really sorry about your mum, these times are very tough, I hope you can find some inner peace. I've found people on OS board very supportive since I lost my dh, so please feel free to "say" how you feel. Lots of virtual ears here. X

Ooo, that's a nice idea! Is there anything else I could use them in? Or can you eat them raw, as sort of like salad greens?!

    LC

    You most certainly can!!!

I always add them to a salad. They look so lovely and the kids are never suspicious!!:T

Well have finally defrosted my freezer, unintentionally, I left in a hurry yesterday to see my Mum in hospital, she died yesterday afternoon, so got back late last night and didnt go in the kitchen. I went in this morning to find I hadnt shut the door properly and food rapidly defrosting. most is salvagable, but to be honest I felt like throwing the lot out. The thought of what my Mum would have had to say regarding such waste inspired me to sort it out and I am pleased that I have, it has given me something to do today and has kind of comforted me.

So sorry Meg. Sending love to you and your family xx
