Morning everyone,
Meg - so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you xxx
Hanging around this morning for a surveyor to come look at my new windows - cracked frames already tut tut. I have to pick up the children from school slightly earlier today as DD has a cricket match at another school. DS2 then has cubs which, again, is at a different location, so dinner will probably have to be prepped and cooked this afternoon and pinged hot in the mw later
I'm away this weekend visiting friends in Chester, so will have to shop for supplies for DH and the boys (DD off to guide camp - it's all go!!!). Will probably go to MrT tomorrow and get what's needed.

I have been keeping track of my spending and signature is up to date.
NSD's Sat & Sun :j
I have DGS here a lot this week so needed to go out particularly for fresh fruit.
£4.75 in Co*p - YS strawberries, YS raspberries, YS Mission wraps and a small loaf for DGS's toast (if I make my own, I cant resist eating it ALL)
£2.50 in Tesco Express on YS chicken fillet bites
£8.30 in Lidl, kitchen roll , apples, nectarines, clotted cream and juice.
Had Weetabix for breakfast.
Think lunch will be fruit and toast or bran flakes.
Tea will be LO HM baked chicken pepper and mushroom out of the freezer - probably with pasta or maybe rice.
Hope all our poorly people are feeling better and the bereaved and worried are feeling some comfort from memories of happier times0 -
Morning all, just caught up with the last few pages. Meg, so sorry to hear about your mum.
Have done quite a few little shops as my car broke down at the end of last week and I could only buy what I could carry! Luckily DH has fixed it, to the complete surprise of us all as he is not known for his practical side!:p
In total I spent another £65.17. This included an emergency dash to Mr M on sat eve for pizza as we were that close to getting a takeaway! So have the weeks' shop plus a few bits for next week too. Did forget the cooking chocolate but will get that at the end of the week when I get mushrooms for Sunday breakfast!
Going to have roast chicken tonight, the leftovers will see us another 2-3 meals plus stock. Also going to make DS a chocolate cake as his sports day has been cancelled.
Sig updated.
Have a good week all.:DMake £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

I had this problem with the currys price promise, that they match the competitor's price and knock off an extra 10%. First they tried to say that it was a different item I was comparing, which it wasn't, then that the other store didn't have it in stock (although I'd seen 6 of them on their shelf 5 mins before), then they said they only match the price, and despite me pointing out the price promise on the wall behind them, they still argued that I was wrong! I wish I’d checked elsewhere before buying the item, as I usually do, but believing I was covered by their price promise I bought from there, I won't be buying anything else from them without making totally sure that they are the cheapest, as it’s too embarrassing trying to claim the money back! I even emailed them to complain, and got a call from some bloke who said the same as the shop staff, so I told him he’d better take the misleading signs out of their stores in that case, he didn’t know what to say to that!
Meg72 I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, big hugs!little_miss_moneysaver wrote: »Does anyone else's OH just not get the idea? And does anyone else have to be the meanie in the shop saying we're not buying X, Y & Z?
For the most part my OH is pretty good, but I often have to say no to ‘naughties’, i.e. biscuits, desserts, cakes etc., as apart from those being bad for the budget, we are also supposed to be losing weight! Sometimes he will put things in the trolley when I’m not looking, and hope that I don’t notice, it’s like having a child with me sometimes, lol!
Well, due to me still having problems with sciatica and taking today off sick, I will not be buying anything today. Tomorrow and Wednesday are my days off (as I’m working Saturday,) so if I’m still in pain I won’t be buying anything then either.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I've been MIA and feeling very sorry for myself over the last few days as I'm stuffed full of a cold. Come back here to do a proper catch up and find so many people with much bigger problems. Puts my sniffles well and truly into perspective. ((hugs)) to all who need them right now.little_miss_moneysaver wrote: »Does anyone else's OH just not get the idea? I feel like I've got a 42-year-old toddler in tow when we go to the SM together - I'm forever putting stuff back on the shelf after he's put it in the trolley :rotfl: Trouble is, my money is for day-to-day living expenses and his money pays for the treats. If he wants it, its a treat or an investment. If there's a treat I want, "we can't afford it" So I don't buy any GC treats now unless he's coughing up the dough!
Was passing a$da on Saturday and needed milk so made sure that I made a list of all of the other things we need from there before I went out. And forgot to put milk on the list  Spent less than £20 (need it to appear on the bank statement as I can't find the receipt to know exactly how much) on the stuff we needed up but have to ration the tea intake at the moment. Need petrol on the way home tonight so will stop at MrM and get milk from the petrol station kiosk - saves entering the big store. I'm assuming they'll charge the same price - does anyone know?0 -
Yes I think they charge the same price for milk in the petrol station.
It was going to be a NSD here but I succumbed to a Grabbit and bought 12 bottles of wine from M&S for £36 delivered. We are limiting ourselves to 2 bottles a week now so that should last 6 weeks.
Re. partners' attitude to OS and moneysaving, I'm lucky in that until recently DH had always earned lots more than me but never worried about how much I spent. Our money is shared and there was never any question that he was more entitled to some of it than me, so when he was made redundant and I became the main earner I don't feel that its 'my' money either, but ours. However, there's not enough of it so we both need to spend as little as possible! He has been pretty good at curbing spending and he's much better than me at sticking to a list in the SM.0 -
Should be another NSD for me today. I'm NOT GOING OUT!!!
I'm doing the washing and pulling nettles and sticky jack out of the borders in the garden, and we've just had lunch of a small portion of L/O lasagne each. Just having a quick breather before starting again. Dinner will be the L/Os from Sunday Dinner nuked in the mw.
I thought I hadn't seen you sonastin -hope you're feeling a bit better soon.
As for DH and GC. He agrees 'in principle', and likes it when I can knock the insurance quotes down etc. I usually do the shopping on my own - he meets me later, after I've gone through the checkout, and most of the time he doesn't buy extras. So I guess I'm pretty fortunate, that way
