It works for me too, but... I'll be a negative little bunny here and say that those who really ought to use it will not. I'm talking about those whose hobby is to argue and complain about others again and again... ;)

  • could I please ask a question....if you ignore someone do they no longer see your posts? or is there a way of making it so a certain person does not see what you post? many thanks

They do see your posts but you cannot see theirs unless they are quoted by another user. You also don't receive their PMs.

The only way for another person not to see what you post is for them to put you on ignore.

As "ignore" features go, the default vBulletin one is pretty useless.

Much better to use the built in ignore feature in your brain, and just not pay any attention to some people, even if you can see their posts. ;)

When we ignore someone, can they still see our posts?

Is there a way you can make it so people cannot see you while you ignore them as some people are a bit weird and obsessive and I don't really want their attention or them trolling me and making trouble please?
    See post by Quasar below...:)

    Thank you Hovel.
So someone can troll you and you can't see, and they can influence others opinion of you without you having a right to reply. I guess it is better than nothing.

Can you tell if someone has you on ignore please?
Not as far as I am aware.
    Unless anyone knows different?

I thought I saw something on my travels to say they could, but wouldn't know where I saw that or if I misinterpreted something as a bit green.

Thank you to Q and others in this thread that leant assistance, as I didn't see your posts and so it must have looked like I was not reading your helpfulness. xx

    No worries... :)

Thanks for finding out that most call me "Q" ;)

In answer to your last question, no you cannot tell if someone has you on ignore. It's more... "diplomatic" this way.

  • Ah ha haaaa! Now I know that no one knows if they are on your buddy list either, I can make a list of my favourite posters - so the experts with the good technical knowledge are going on.
