My experience when I left THREE

I was with Three for a year on a monthly contract.
I used to pay £10 a month and got 100 minutes, thousands of texts and 1GB internet.

After looking here and there for a better deal, I found Virgin Mobile offer the following:
£7 a month and will give 125 minutes, 300 texts and 259MB internet. And this deal is for people who are not Virgin Media customers.

This deal works for me. I don’t use much of internet outside home and with this deal i receive additional 25 minutes for less price than Three’s!

I called Three and asked for the PAC code.
The advisor was “polite” at the beginning and he agreed to give me the PAC no. But he asked for the reason.

I told him straight away about Virgin deal and he told me that the deal is for Virgin Media customers.

I told him you are wrong honey, Virgin Media pay £5 and this £7 deal is for people like me.

He went silent for few seconds, I guess because of the time my voice needs to travel to another continent and he gave me a devilish sarcastic laugh and said: No sir you are wrong. I have their deals in front of me and it is for Virgin Media customer only.

!!!!!!?!! I told him I just came from Virgin Media shop and it is the price for non-virgin media customers!

Then he said, ok sir let’s assume this is right....
That silly advisor accuses me with lying!

He then said this price is NOT including the VAT....
I stopped him there and told him whether he has been one day to the UK?

Since when mobile contracts prices shown without the VAT?!
I got angry to lose precious time from life speaking to arrogant silly advisor and asked him to send me the PAC and i got nothing to talk about it with him.

They sent me the PAC after few hours via SMS.

First of all - you are a myth-buster ! I heard about someone who managed to leave 3 on the first phone call to cancel, but didn't believe it. You are that person !!!!!!

Seriously, don't waste time giving information to or arguing with 3's CS team when trying to leave. Just say "I would like my PAC code" and offer no information about what you intend to do with it. They are born sales people who will do ANYTHING to try to retain you.

The less you tell them, the less they can try to twist.

I got mine first call as well... after they told me pretty big lies twice and said my only option was 3 PAYG as no other network would touch me for a contract I took great delight in telling them Tesco had. It took me about ooh - five minutes?

I was on a similar contract.

Twice I wasted 40 minutes of my life on the line to Customer Services asking them to cap service at all the contract limits, twice they failed.

Ludicrous sums taken by direct debit after I unwittingly overshot the levels.

Sadly, I'd recommend logging/recording details of any contact with them, as they patently have selective memory/data loss when trying to resolve issues.

They have yet to reply to my letter of complaint, so I left.
3 seem to be trialling a new type of business model; disappoint & swindle customers?

Thus far, my GiffGaff replacement SIM seems to be working as expected.
A techybloke in a small independent shop on the Southside made it work in the 3handset for £15.

The PAC number should be valid for 30 days.
they will SMS u the code and will tell u in the message that if u change ur mind and want to stay with three, u should call them.

I was with THREE on a monthly sim only deal and my phone was unlocked from the start so i jump freely from operator to another whenever they p*^%$ me off or find a better deal.

I guess that means ur handset is now unlocked so u can use any sim from any operator with no problems.

i like unlocked phones and short term contracts...freedom :)
