End of year round up:
- Overpaid on the mortgage in total: £1231.14 - not as much as hoped.
- Managed to get the mortgage under £280,000 at the start of December although daily interest has pushed it up over that figure again.
- Next year we're aiming for £3,300 in OP's and will end the year at £268,000 or there abouts.
Savings pots are as followed:- Annual expenses saved up for 2016.
- And we've saved for our one off big holiday.
- Also have decided to pay for the implant tooth at £2,150 and have nearly saved £1,800 towards that. Should be able to fill that pot up by the end of January.
- Car replacement pot / emergency fund at £6K. Will keep adding to this as if we don't use it we can build up a large overpayment when we renew the mortgage in 3 years time.
On the whole OK ish. Feel a little 'must try harder' to be honest and and re-focussed for the new year.
Happy New Year fellow MFWers.

Hello
Spotted your diary on new posts and was immediately struck by someone else on here with a large mortgage. Ours is in the £160ks.. And as we are set to pay off by 2026 it's a massive monthly payment. Don't get me wrong, not complaining at my lot, far from it - we have made these choices, a great house and lots of great things like holidays to Oz and a stonking motorhome have been bought via loans secured on it. But anyway it'd be great to have more options..so we have cleared the debt and are paying down the mortgage as much as possible with a goal of being MF in 6 years ( nod to the lovely Ms Tilly there;) but actually it's when OH will be 50 so seems a good time to be moving onto different things!) it will be a slog as we intend to have fun as we go.. But nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Have subscribed to cheer you on your way!

Thanks Brizzle. And great that you're going to cheer me on. I certainly need a kick up the butt every now and then. I'll wander over to your diary and repay the compliment.
Had a lovely surprise this morning. Logged in to online banking and mortgage balance today is £0.00!!!! Suspect they won't really be letting us off paying £280K back and that the balance will reappear over the next couple of days. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:It's given me a taste of the long term aim though so once more into the fray we go!

Mojo in full swing so am making the most of it.
Signed up for grocery challenge and MFW 2016 challenge.
I'll report my January OP officially when it goes out on 23rd each month but Tilly Tidies and TSB interest have got the pot up to £9 so far.
A few fresh food bits bought this morning but I used some nectar points and only spent £1.10 of real money.
Got a couple of presents for Girl MM to take to 2 x birthday parties this weekend. Total = £14.09. Quite pleased with what we bought and the amount spent.
Saved two apples that had more wrinkles than me by making them into apple, sultana and cinnamon compote. Will have with porridge for breakfast for the next couple of days.
Everyone in the MM household finally back to school / work tomorrow. I'm quite looking forward to the routine to be honest! Bet I won't be saying that in a week or two!MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -

Thanks Brizzle.
Today gives another £1 to the OP pot (Mortgage'll be gone before you know it!).
£2.69 spent on top up shop - sig updated.
Worked from home today. Needed to catch up on stuff that just doesn't get done in the office. Yesterday I had an actual queue of people at my desk  all 'needing' me. So, managed to tick loads of tasks off the to do list and am heading into the weekend feeling lighter.
Happy Friday.
