Hullo MoneyMission, your thread keeps catching my eye given the time of year!
I did read somewhere that you can open 2 TSB accounts each which might be worth looking into?Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857

Thanks FloppyDisk. Liking your user name. I'm in IT and can actually remember when we used to sell them - many moons ago now!
Didn't know that about TSB accounts. Will have a look into it. Might be worth doing with the rest of the savings as they'll still be easy to access if we need it. Hummmm. Will ponder on it.
Just OP'd £63 on the mortgage :T. Some left over funds from the food budget plus a bit in lieu of a pension.

Its been a while.
Had loads going on. Lots of them positive so am in a good place. Have bought new furniture for DS room and our bedroom furniture is on order. Finally! Have been making small OP's to the mortgage but all purchases have been made from savings so no credit used anywhere.
I have a new job. More hours again. Start in a couple of weeks. I am really looking forward to it. I get some benefits with the package too: pension and medical cover :T:T:T Will be taxed on those but have got more basic salary that will cover it and then some. Yippee.
Starting off 2015 with a balance of £2K in savings and all annual expenses saved already for the year (insurance, holidays, car tax, maintenance etc).
Just wanted to check in to let the mortgage know I'm still thinking of it!
Hope everyone is OK. Haven't caught up on diaries for a while.

Still chucking little bits at the mortgage. Was hammered for some plumbing costs in December though - £1,000! Yikes. That was the o'ping gone until now. Furniture wiped the rest out.
Annual Expenses for 2016: 36%
America: £4,000 - stole some for house things. Must replenish.
House fund pot: £0. Must replenish.
Not looking so good is it?
Mortgage starts with a £286 though. Going in the right direction.
Will crack on with getting those pots full up again and then the mortgage over payments.

Got made redundant. Pants. Whole UK office is being shut down.
Had just started with the replenishing of the pots too. Current status:
Annual Expenses 2016: 44% full
America Trip 2017: £4K
House pot: £484
Car replacement pot: £6K
On the plus side, have two redundancy options available to me. Package A is good seeing as I've only been there 5 months. Package B is much better but means staying to the bitter end to be the one of the last people out (switching off the lights type thing). Not sure as I can manage the soul destruction that this option would entail so I'm still mulling it over.
I already have one interview for a new job lined up. Not as much money as now but a really nice little job that would fit in with family life a bit better. That's a positive - can imagine that there will be some fairly stiff competition for the role though.
Really trying to find the silver linings this week. Its been fairly tough emotionally.
Did manage to OP about £18 from various places to the mortgage today and hopefully will have a little bit more to come this month. Mortgage currently starts with a £285! Still way to high but LTV is now about 39% so I still think we have a healthy equity and are on the right path for us.
Got an MM family mini break coming up for half term. £300 all in including spending money. After this last week I am feeling very ready for it!

Hi MM, sorry to hear your news but good to hear there's a possible opportunity.
Difficult decision re stay and turn the lights off, vs going earlier.

Thanks Tilly. I think I need to make a decision in about two weeks so I still have time mull it over. By then I'll have had the interview for possible new job and it may all be a bit clearer.
Lovely to see you're still going great guns on your mortgage. Inspirational as always!

Item on fleabay sold for £22.33. Will split this 50% to mortgage and 50% to garden funds as have purchased some plants recently and need to make amends!
Off to make lentil and veg soup in the slow cooker for my lunch. Girl MM has friend over today. Boy MM going out with his friends to the park. Mr MM at work (boo). Just as well really, not sure any of them would eat the lentil soup! The kids can just have a sandwich. Going to make some bread rolls too - will freeze for lunches next week.
Veg plants grown from seed this year: toms, mini cucumbers, runner beans, french beans, lettuce, beetroot, courgette, thyme. All getting ready to be planted out in a couple of weeks. Am not going to over do the plants in the greenhouse this year - it always turns into a jungle! Just three mini cucumbers and five tomatoes. The rest get planted out in the veg beds or in pots on the patio.
Happy bank holiday everyone.MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
Tilly Tidies tilly tidied. All to mortgage.
Had interview yesterday. Not sure about it. Liked the role but not convinced the working environment is right for me. Its a bit 'comfy slippers' if you know what I mean? I feel I need a bit more dynamism in the workplace than there would be there. They have more interviews to do so will wait for feedback.
Applied for another role today. Bizarrely working two doors down from my current job so at least I know the commute works! The job already has 50 applications though according to the online recruitment advert.
Been off work today as girl MM's school closed to be a polling station  As if there weren't enough holidays and inset days as it is. Have helped her finish her homework (making a shield) and have been packing for her Guide camp this weekend. Boy MM is away on Scout camp this weekend too so OH and I have a free weekend. We will be mainly doing a couple of jobs in the garden. We will also be going for a walk and having a coffee out somewhere. We have got a new to us DVD all lined up ready to watch Saturday evening. Rock n Roll lifestyle here!
Jelly Butt cat not quite herself. Suspect she's been duffed up by big bully cat and is feeling a little bit bruised. Will keep an eye and hope she hasn't got anything more serious wrong with her.
s'all folks.
