Slow Cooker vs Football

Can anyone tell me how this works...
OH emails me at work the other day to ask if we think we can manage on £340 for the whole month, in order to try and crack the overdraft. I replied I thought it might be difficult, but worth a try, and did this include his football?
Apaprently not. So tonight, while I am home fiddling about with numbers and chatting to you lot, he's at Arsenal with his £50 ticket and dinner with the boss, the second (out of 4) mid week games he's got this month. (Each one costs a minimum of £20)
So, we're talking about a slow cooker (having spent time reading Martin's "thrifty" book, and reading the OS threads) but guess what? We can't afford one!!!!!!!!!!
ARGH!!!!!

Could he not watch the footy on the tv?? Ok, I realise it's not the same as actually being there but it would be a hell of a lot cheaper, and then you'd could afford your slow cooker? We got a brilliant set from Comet I think - slow cooker and a rice cooker in the same box for £40. bargain! I can't cook rice to save my life, so it's wonderful not needing a knife to cut a lump of rice free! And the slow cooker is good for doing curries, soups, stews etc etc.BCSC # 9 and proud! :beer:0

You're being a lot more tolerant than I would be.

That seems so unfair. You have my sympathies!0 -
If he's at football he's not eating at home so need for a slow cooker. :rotfl:
Come on lads, back me up here.

Didnt you know that any money saving stops where men and football are concerned

so ok then he gets his football this month and you get to reduce your overdraft and then next month its your turn
thats only fair isnt it ?
have you tried freecycle for a slow cooker ? that is after you have stopped making your OH suffer

Sound perfectly fair to me
I don't see how a reasonable person can argue with that

I've not been to a game all season for my club, and the tickets are only 15 quid a go.......Only game i've been to is the Ladies Premier League Cup final last weekend, and that cost me absolutely nothing!! (Arsenal did win that!
)
I prefer to listen to football on the radio, then I can paint my own pictures in my brain! Admittedly I do have $$$ky as well, but have been known to turn the volume off on the telly, and listen to the radio commentary instead!0
