Bit confused re: lost package

  • There's far too many INR claims on eBay and I should imagine games is a pretty bad category for it. Not the best situation for a genuine buyer claiming INR but seeing as RM have a dedicated eBay team and not a dedicated Amazon team, coupled with sellers shouting about how great sales are on Amazon, it certainly says a lot.

Yes its one they made up, going to escalate it now

    What was made up?

  • The form was one put together by the seller rather than RM. There was another poster here told they would only get a refund from RM with confirmation that the customer didn't get the parcel and RM's advice was to ask the buyer to fill in such a form and send it with the claim.

Could be that eBay account for a far larger slice of the third-party marketplace market than Amazon, and many Amazon sellers are a lot more professional than eBay sellers.

I've had to make seven claims as a buyer on eBay since 2010, and only one on both Amazon and Play - so it works both ways. Just had another delayed item - and I suspect I have another one from Amazon marketplace too. So that's ten altogether.

Of those total ten claims, four of them were the fault of the seller directly, not RM. None of them involved the company's own stock, one item was definitely not sent until I raised a dispute (Play, for a £20 item), and none of them were the usual 99p 'bargains' from non-performing sellers.

I think some sellers need to look at the whole picture before they start making insinuations about buyer honesty. It got to the point where I was thinking about not buying so much online - until the Play item arrived and there was evidence of seller being bent (sending package about two weeks after purchase and well outside their expected delivery date) rather than simply the postal service being rotten.

The thing is, some sellers get so insulated in your own world you forget there is another point of view (and there are a number of people on the community boards who admit they don't buy much on eBay - so they don't see the other end of the situation when it does happen but are perfectly happy to comment on buyers' experiences). I can accept that some buyers are dishonest - but when INRs happen to me in this way, it does annoy me when some sellers take this arrogant view that 'what do you expect because sellers are annoyed' - it's not right, full stop, to make out that any one segment is totally dishonest - because it means that you can't trust the people who are keeping you afloat - in which case, maybe you shouldn't be in the online market at all.
