Wedding in 2015

Options
Anyone else here getting married in 2015? I'd love someone to share the waiting time with, it feels forever away.

Me and my partner got engaged almost one month ago and we've decided to get married in 2015 as it gives me a year after University to settle into a job before we start our lives together. It also gives me a chance to save for my wedding and give us a chance to achieve our perfect wedding.

We are currently looking at churches so that we can book it in advance and sort things out, but do you recommend looking at receptions anytime soon?

Much love

Congratulations! They do get booked up pretty soon. We booked ours a year ago now and they didn't have every Saturday free (providing you wanted a Saturday obviously!). I think if you book it then it's done isn't it, and you never know they might do it at this years prices so no increase :)
Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j

I'm getting married in 2014 and just booked the venue, the registra's website says we can't book them until 12 months in advance so will have to wait till April to be able to book them.

So I've nearly got the same waiting time as you, I have been engaged for 3 years though lol

Just to say - some registrars can be booked more than 12 months ahead. I booked ours just short of 2 years ahead, which we firmed up by giving notice 12-11 months prior to the wedding. (Although ours is an 'enhanced' ceremony at a registry office). If in doubt give your local registry office a call.

    Yes, me too!
I have been lurking as I came across this forum while searching wedding things, but thought that as we are waiting until 2015 I felt a bit weird joining in!
But now I dont! We are waiting because we are about to start trying for a baby, so want to do that before getting married, seems a bit wrong way round but I dont want to wait until I'm past 30 to have another baby.

We were hoping for 2014 but are postponing until 2015 now as we have to move out yet. We have been engages just over 2 years and are hoping to get married in May. My fiance doesn't 'see the point' in looking/booking until we've moved out as we don't know when that is likely to be! Hoping to do it very MSE though!!

Our biggest expense by far is going to be the venue, already have one in mind and the prices aren't that bad really, I'm guessing its going to be around the £3k mark, but our budget is going to me £6k at the very max, hopefully £5k really.

I'm getting my dress and bridesmade dresses from china, OH's Auntie will make the invites etc, his Mum will make the cake, We are having silk flowers, I know plenty of hairdressers that can do my hair on the cheap, he knows a photogropher, Im not having a diamond ring, I wanted silver but he wants me to have white gold, I wont argue with that!
I think we are going to go for a white/ivory and Pink with champagne colour theme, as its pretty neutral and understated, which isn't really my personality but I just think it looks elegant.
  • Me and the bf are also looking to get married 2015, i'm always looking on the internet a wedding stuff, we've decided to go abroad as it's sooooooo much cheaper and you can get someone to sort it all out for you! :j

We're also going to try for baby before wedding but can't wait to book it next year!

    All exciting stuff!! :D:D:D
