Home Signal Boosters?

I picked Vodafone _because_ they offered SureSignal (poor signal from all the networks when inside our house). Works perfectly.0

I think Voda's and Three's boosters are better than Orange's UMA, but don't expect them to reach far beyond your home.0

I use the Vodafone Booster, cost me £15 I think.
It seems to take it about 3-4 days to connect which is a laugh and you simply plug it into your router.
When it does connect it works great though.
I've a fast broadband connection so I just think the booster is a bit temperamental.0 -
I got a mobile repeater from mobilesignal.co.uk I was worried about what the legal issuse were using one so I asked them and they said:
Basically this boils down to the problem of licensing. Ofcom says that you require a license to operate a product broadcasting in the mobile carrier's radio spectrum.
The reason for this is to avoid interference in the providers networks. However, our products do not and will not cause network interference and if you read the last part of Sec 1.2 in the link below taken directly from the Ofcom home page they are exempt from licensing requirements set out.
We regularly supply product to customers that are referrals directly from the network providers so they trust us with our product quality and guarantee of no interference.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like me to clarify anything for you.

O2 are currently trialing a 'femtocell' (same system as 3 and Vodaphone use) with business customers. I expect to see it in domestic use eventually0

The facts are:- It is legal to sell them.
- It is legal to have them.
- It is illegal to use them and (IIRC) the fine is up to £5K.

... I find it amazing that various forums are littered with people discussing their use of repeaters within their homes and small offices, some even posting photos of how they’ve installed the kit. They might as well post a picture of a £5,000 cheque made payable to HM Court Services.0 -
If ofcom do find you using one could you not just claim its modern art?0

The other two networks are also trialling theseI spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0
