Home Signal Boosters?
Hi All
Have been looking into a new contract and was looking at O2 as their service has been good where I live, that was up until a couple of weeks ago when my daughter and I started getting delayed texts due to a 3G fault/error in the area!
Have read a couple of times that some of the networks now offer Home Signal boosters. Can anyone help me with which offer this, are there any further costs and whether they actually work?
Thanks

Orange UMA is different as it relies on wifi and is available only for selected handsets: http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/4465330 -
Thanks grumbler,
Orange no good as limited handsets.
Three is an option, cannot believe I just typed that!
Voda no go, why should I pay £50 to boost their carp service, what a joke!0 -

If you negotiate with Vodafone, you would be likely to get the SureSignal device free. I was asking about it on a business forum recently, and it seems V few people actually pay for these. When my Voda contract was coming up for renewal at the beginning of the year and rang to ask them, they offered me a Suresignal for nowt - I went with O2 in the end cos Voda didn't have the phone I wanted at the price I wanted to pay.
If you are looking to start 2 new contracts, I'm guessing they'll be persuaded to chuck in the suresignal, it costs nothing to ask - and it does seem to work quite well.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
Are you saying that ALL 3G signals are bad in your area or only O2?
I wasn't aware that if one network had signal problems, then all networks were affected.
How do you know you need a signal boost on networks other than O2?0 -
O2 also offers a service similar to UMA which works on smartphones, including the iPhone. It's called O2 Connect and you can even use it when roaming.0

Not saying all have issues. O2 do as until recently there was no problem, now I have to switch the phone to 2G when home otherwise get delayed texts.
Basically O2 is the best of the rest tried so far. Wife has t-mob and it is hit & miss, son had Voda and was not good at all.
I think it may be something to do with the walls of our house as we all get good service outside, the house is ex MoD and has that black layer through the bricks which plays havoc with anything wireless. Had to get the plugs to use the electric ring for our wifi otherwise only get in one side of the house!0 -

Had looked at this but I thought it had been pulled or was rather carp as I mentioned it to O2 when reporting the fault0 -
