Son using debit card

Just checked bank account and found transactions involving small amounts being debited for xbox spotify itunes etc, they have obviously been made by my 15 year old son and i am furious but thats another story.
My question is can i stop this happening again by reporting my debit card as lost and thereby getting the number changed or can debits still be made with the old details? Just don't want the hassle of individually going through xbox, itunes etc

It seams like that you have saved your details when you have used the service. I too had this happen, with amazon - my daughter bought books for the kindle !!!!!!!!

I would go into the accounts and create a new password, or failing that ring your bank and advise them that you would like to have the card stopped as it been lost. That way a new card will be made.

    Good luck

Have you spoken to your son about this?

Stop the debit card by declaring it lost, change passwords, keep your details and cards well hid from your son.

Also have words with your son as what he did was Fraud,he used your details without permission.
Tell him you will not put up with it and that he must repay every single penny to you.
Place him on restrictions ie: no computer,no games, or whatever it is he does.
He must be made accountable for his actions.

I have just phoned up and cancelled the card, hope that will stop it happening again, he will have no access whatsover to any cards again , this will be dealt with make no mistake about it
The only reason i asked in the first pace was because i am not savvy in online banking, i didn't ask for parenting advice

Keep checking your statements, stopping a card doesnt always stop the payments being claimed, especially if they're small amounts and dont need authorising.

Did you tell your card issuer about the recurring payment agreements ?

Maybe a long term solution would be to open him an account of his own with a debitcard (kids accounts can have them) -and have him use that for -xbox stuff-maybe earn money for it by chores ? No more worry for you as you can replace your card number with his-and a way he can learn that debitcards come with limits ? (Not sure if this is banking or parenting advice-sorry if you don't want it but thought I'd throw it out there in case it is useful)
