Hi, sorry to hijack the thread but our school had just changed to purple
(after i'd bought enough cardi's and jumpers for 2 years!!!)
If anyone sees purple cardi's, jumpers or sweatshirts could you add to the thread and i'll keep checking.
    Thanks so much xxx

Im always on the hunt for purple - if you're after dresses (all seem to be lilac) Matalan have them, also there are Ladybird dresses for £3.50 (plus postage) each on eBay. Sainsburys also have them (and matching socks with lilac gingham bows/trim) but I believe they only stock if there's a school nearby which have this colour. Very also have them, but unlike the other 3 mentioned these have the white collar that either goes grubby or grey in the wash. Much to my horror, none of these shops sell the purple knitwear. WHY??!!!
I had found an eBay seller who had cardis and jumpers for £5 ish (took offers of £4.25 each) plus combined postage, and I was paying half of the price the school charge for identical products. Unfortunately this seller came and went periodically and now appears to have vanished but I keep checking so see if they're back!
Three children at 'the purple school' and three more still to go after that, so any purple bargains appreciated here too!

Check out Oxfam for new M&S school uniform bits n bobs.
Large M&S stores often send stuff which has lost packaging/split sets/slightly shop soiled to a local Oxfam store.

    Hi
    Thanks for your purple replies!
Not sure on the shade i'm assuming a darkish purple, they said we can continue with red and blue until september so dd's dresses are fine for this summer. School will be selling but an so reluctant to gve them anymore money as every week there is some expense from them. Am so annoyed as could get red and blue anywhere, niw i need purple for dd and ds!!

Here we go again - I'm back on the school uniform roundabout this September after a break of four years.

School sweatshirts from uniform shop start at £9.99 against a plain red one from a supermarket for £2 - it's a non issue as far as I'm concerned. The school name embroidered onto a sweatshirt or polo shirt doesn't justify such a difference in price.

I can afford it but it's the principle that annoys me.
  • dont asda or tesco offer an embroidered school badge service? I know its one of them as was disapointed that my childrens school havent enrolled.:(
as someone who spent £98 on 3 pairs of school shoes today (why do children grow:mad::o) I know i will be looking out for any uniform bargains i can:o

I do like the sainsburys range for girls as some of the skirts etc are cute and with the adjustable waists actually fit my very skinny 3 year old!

Don't Asda do a deal later in the year - 3 things for £9 or something? I remember getting twin packs of trousers and two 3 packs of white polos for under a tenner. Asda are the best place for trousers for my boys as they are slightly built and need ones that don't look like clown pants with the waist adjusted. I buy polos from Sainsburys usually - they are currently £2 for a twin pack in the smaller sizes. I have one starting Primary this year and one is his final year so need to keep the cost down as their big brother starts secondary and everything on the uniform list must come from the school shop and have the school crest. That's socks to winter coat and the other things have to have his house colours. I'm not looking forward to buying all of that.
