  • What are the ingredients listed on the label?

If it's still sealed I'd use it, no problem but would probably make a test-batch and just drink it myself to make sure that the flavour hasn't degraded as that's what the "best before" bit is referring to and nothing else.

I've never heard of "mulled wine syrup" before, so would guess that it's just sugar/glucose syrup, spices and orange/citrus.

I have used it a few times over the years. It contains, sugar, water, cinnamon, quill, extract of spices, caramel, citric acid.

It has to be used within 6 months of opening so I could try a little batch, as you suggest (purely in the interests of other people, of course :rotfl:)

Sorry if this is not in the right section! In our attempt to be frugal in 2014, my fianc!e and I cooked pork and rice with extra to have for lunch today. I put some in a sealed container and left it on the side to cool. However, we completely forgot to put it in the fridge overnight and I came downstairs to it this morning.

Could we still eat it for lunch? I'd hate to throw a perfectly good meal away but I don't want to get ill!

Any ideas on how 'warm' your kitchen was overnight? Do you have radiator on in there? I NEVER have any heating on in my kitchen, so confidently know that anything left out overnight is going to be fine - unless I've had the SC going all night OR accidentally left the oven on overnight :o.

Have a sniff to see if you can detect anything 'iffy' - but to be honest, personally speaking, I'd be more concerned about the rice than the pork .................

I've had no problems in the past as long as it is well heated through before eating.

hesitant to say 'eat it' because I hate the thought of someone getting an upset tummy off of the back of what I post!

However, I've left chinese takeaway etc on the side overnight (forgot to put it away) and eaten it the next day a few times without any problems.

Microwave until it's so hot that it sounds like the food is screaming and allow to cool down and eat.

I can understand you having doubts I would as well.I would be also loathe to throw out food as a rule but when it comes to rice ,having been extremly ill with reheated rice I'm afraid I too would bin it,unless of course you wish to lose a few lbs over the next few days
If in doubt ,chuck it out
