Morning,
I batch cook and freeze meals as I live on my own so need to be organised. Today's tea on the meal plan is hot pot. So last night I got a portion out of the freezer and put it on the kitchen side to defrost.
Friend came round last night and one or two responsible alcoholic drinks later it was waaay past my bedtime so went straight to bed as soon as he had left.
Anyway, I got up this morning to find that I had forgotten to put the hot pot in the fridge overnight, so it is now well and truly room temperature and has been all night.
Is this safe to eat do you think if I nuke it? Or am I best avoiding it and getting something else out of the freezer for plan B?
Thanks

It should be fine, it's just defrosted overnight and has probably only just reached room temp! A few hours at room temp this side of freezing isn't going to hurt. Bugs are more likely to be harmful if food is not cooled quickly enough BEFORE freezing. Nuke it to be sure"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

I'd go to plan B, it is really not worth the risk.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0

If I take items out of the freezer the evening before, they wouldn't even have thawed by now, if I left them out of the fridge. Do you have an exceptionally warm kitchen, or do I have a very cold one?
In my kitchen, I wouldn't hesitate to eat it.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

I think it depends on the temperature of your kitchen, my kitchen is unheated and when the door is closed over at night it is pretty cool so I would have no worries about eating it.
If on the other hand your kitchen is kept at a high temperature overnight, I would be a bit more wary.1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I'd eat it and I'm a paranoid freak! As long as you ensure is piping hot before eating you'll be fine

Kitchen temp is 19 degrees, it will have been out from frozen for 15 hours. As I say it was well and truly room temp when I checked it before. Back in the fridge now thoughThis is WAY more fun than monopoly.0

I'd eat it - but as others have said, heat it to boiling hot.0

Of course, it will be fine0
