    Definitely but they might need cooking for longer than normal as might be a bit tough.

    Yes from me too. Soak the dried beans overnight and discard the water and any floating bits before rinsing and cooking.
    It the tin hasn't blown (doesn't have a convex/pushed out lid) and isn't rusted through to the lining then the contents are fine. Applies to all timnned stuff.

    I currently have a chicken carcass simmering in a pan of water.

    The chicken was previously roasted and most of the meat picked off and the carcass then frozen as I couldn't use it straight away.

    Is this OK? Just thinking about it now realised it is going to end up being heated a couple of times.

    My plan is to use the stock to make a sort of stew with a half empty bag of barley I found in the cupboard, celery, onion, carrot, a sad looking potato I found and herbs. I also have some accidentally defrosted yorkshire puddings to attempt to rescue to have with it.

    Of course it's OK. Once made I wouldn't freeze it more than once.

    Just make sure you reduce the stock enough to ensure it's got some flavour in it.
