While trying to find out if I can freeze houmus (sp?) and couscous, I came across this website - Frostbite.
I've not seen it mentioned on here before - just thought it might be something that folks can look at to see what they think.0 -

On Monday I made a soup from homemade chicken stok. I added some lentils and potato to the stock.
Unfortunately, I realised today it has been left covered on teh hob since Monday.
It has a white scum on top but my homemade soup often does (fat, other stuff, dunno).
Would you:
a) Just eat it
b) Skim off the scum and eat it
c) Skim off the scum, heat it up and check it by smell/taste before deciding
d) Just bin it
I'm most tempted by c) but I was sick this morning randomly, and am doing a fast today as part of the 5:2 diet so I'm wary of upsetting my tummy as it is currently empty!
I also don't want to thow it away as it is tasty and low-calorie.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Monday? It's Thursday today...it's been left out at room temperature for 72 hours. Next day maybe but 3 days is pushing it.:footie:

In my mum's day, the soup would be made on Sunday and sit in the pot on the hob all week with things being added every day.
We just helped ourselves to some when we got home from school
Heat and eat, it sounds delish0 -
If your kitchen is reasonably cool - mine is this time of year - then I'd boil it up and eat. If your kitchen is warm - then no.0

Well, I've just eaten home made potato soup which has been sitting on the hob since Tuesday night, because i forgot about it. Hopefully I'll be ok
But I wouldn't eat yours... I'd be wary of it because of the chicken content.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -

There's no actual chicken in it, but I get your point.
I think I'll have to heat it and smell it and see. Don't want to chuck it cos that's my low-cal food for today!! I do have a homemade veg stock on the go though, it's just not as tasty as chicken. DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
