Thanks all always a bit cautious when it is pork.0

If it was off, you would know. It will be absolutely fine .... pork is no more risky than any other meat.0

Is it still safe to use the carcass from Sunday night's chicken to make a stock/soup overnight with (in my slowcooker)? It's been refrigerated, and covered loosely with foil.
I usually would have done either yesterday, or earlier today.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
I've decided to go ahead with it. It was well seasoned, and still looks, and smells fresh, and I tasted a scrap of meat with no ill-effects.
Will make the stock overnight in my SC, then make the soup first thing (in SC whilst the stocks hot).New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
A while ago, OH came home with one of those crispy duck kits with the pancakes, sauce and half a duck in the box, which she'd found on special in Mr S. She shoved it in the freezer for an easy supper. The other day, I looked at the box to see if it could be cooked from frozen, only to find a statement along the lines of "This product has previously been frozen. Do not re-freeze."
Of course, the 'right' thing to do now is to learn a lesson (always read the box in the SM, or at least before freezing) and chuck it out, but the waste really galls me! I'm half tempted to risk eating it to avoid the waste - I think the duck is pre-cooked, if that makes a difference...
Would anyone else risk this, or am I being silly even considering it?Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0 -
I would, like you I hate waste, but some may think it cavalier
