I'm buying a new car and part exchanging mine, the only problem is the drivers side central locking doesn't open the door, (it does lock it though) but you need to use the key to unlock the drivers side.
Now do I tell them this or not? I can play ignorant cause it's my g/f's car. I just don't want them to knock a load of because of this problem. I have taken the door to peices to investigate the issue and try to repair it, but it's a broken Acuator, this costs £56 from ebay and it's easy to replace, but I feel they would knock £100's off the part ex price.
On the other hand I don't really want to buy a new one if I don't have to.
So just some advice would be great. Thanks

Don't say anything, chances are that it will just be going to an auction anyway so they actually won't care (although they will pretend to).
I part-exed a car which the passanger door would not open from outside, only 1 key, massive dent, clutch on the way out and lots of paint damage. Didn't bat an eyelid.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

Imagine how you'd feel if the car you bought developed a fault? Such as a duff door lock.
I magine you'd be on the phone to the dealer straight away wanting it fixing...0 -
I wouldn't lose sleep if the profit went from £2000 to £1900 though.0

Yes he would and rightly so.
The dealer should have spotted the fault when he valued the car.0 -
