Capital One Secured Credit Card

Hi all. Just registered on here.

I applied for a Capital One Classic credit card and was declined and offered a secured card for £49 deposit which I accepted as I really need the card for when I'm travelling across europe as I bank with Natwest who will only give an offline visa debit which usually leaves me redfaced at the barriers on the toll roads!!

I have a bad credit history however as I have a much better job I have started to repay my years of debt and arears. Hence the difficulty obtaining credit....

After about 2 months (yes 2 whole months) of sending paperwork backwards and forwards (missing letters in the post etc...) I finally recieved the card.

However I was totally shocked to find I had been sent a Platinum Mastercard!

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I rung capital one and they had no idea what I was going on about.

Thanks for your help with this :)
