As you notified your insurer, it should be recorded here - http://www.insurancedatabases.co.uk/default.aspx
You should be able to get insurers details (assuming they subscribed to CUE at the time). May take a while to get a response though.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for all the help!!
Can see some light at the end of the tunnel with all the contact info, some one should know something!
Am I right in thinking that if I can find my insurance/under writers/liquidators - I can just forward all this paper work to them and they will sort it meaning the action will be called off re the money side of it all - seeing as that is why insurance is paid in the first place?
Thanks Again!!0 -
generally yes, but if the insurance company don't agree to apply to set aside immediately then I'd be tempted to do that off my own bat0

I owe nothing and this is the first CCJ I have ever had, the only thing that ever goes to my parents address is junk mail which they just save in case I want to look at it - as some of the post has voucher codes etc inside, so they have no reason to forward anything on to me - However my parents not forwarding junk mail to me isnt really the issue - the issue is to find out who I was insured with and there for someone who can help me with this mess....
Ok I will contact them on Tuesday (stupid bank holl)
HSBC are adamant its nothing to do with them as they took over the accounts a year after my accident.
I am presuming then all I need to contact the ABI and/or MIB would be my then registration number of the car? I do have a policy number also?
The case was heard at Northampton Court on the 27th of April.
Also worried about if its not sorted within these 10 days I have left can bailiffs remove my parents property - I am not even on the electoral roll there!
Does this mean that you deliberately didnt tell your parents where you were living?
Not judging here, just clarifying what you meant.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Yes, but only people who the OP thinks need to know, presumably not the parents.
It isnt the way I read it. I read it that they only give their new address to people who they want to know where they live,
As the parents did not send the mail on, they either didnt know the new address or they (the parents) were being spiteful.
Perhaps the OP can clarify.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I read it differently, i read it as the parents knew where the OP had moved to but didnt forwrad/pass this mail on as maybe they thought it wasnt important.
I could of course be wrong0 -
I don't understand why you would leave it and not chase it since 2007.
Did you pay for the wing on your car to be repaired?I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

That's how I read it too (but my view might be coloured because my old Dad stores mail for me and my siblings and I do the same for my kids)0 -
My Parents do know I have moved and where I have moved to!!
What I meant is I moved out of thier house and in with my partner - I never paid any of the bills at my parents house and everyone i.e doctors, bank obviously have my new address.
My parents are not being spitefull why would they?! It is more a fact of a letter came which they presumed was just voucher codes i.e not important so just put it on the letter rack....Not like they had a big CJJ on the front of them of they would have called me straight away!!
Like I have said I never had a loan, credit card or over draft and so I never get mail like this!!
I have not chased it as I paid for my car repaired and I never heard anything from my insurance company or the 3rd parties company so I just presumed they didn't take it any further or it had been thrown out - Untill I have now had these letters come 4 1/2 years later!!
I havnt done anything wrong here - In fact if anything the 3rd party has because the accident 'claim' is actually not what happened and I have 2 witness who were there and saw it happen who would also stand up in court and give the truth - I.E that my car was not moving at the time and 20 other false points.
But the point is my insurance should have sorted this and have not so this is what I need to sort out, and I cant do that if they are not around any more, so I just need another solution - which I hope I will have when I call the numbers suggested above in the morning!0
