Vodafone getting worse?
Hi,
Are other people having problems with the Vodafone signal in the last few months/year or so?
I've had a few of phones over the last few years, (Nokia, Samsung 3g, Motorola V3/V9 and now iPhone 4), and most places I go (unless in central London) I end up with a very poor 3g signal. Hopeless inside buildings.
And when I only get a 2g signal, the data through it is virtually non existant.
I may as well not have a smart phone!
Everytime I call Vodafone, they fob me off with the fault finding guide!
My friend on Voda also confirms the same signal problems on his HTC.
I really can't wait for my contract to end and I swap over to THREE now, as another friend has a perfect signal everywhere he goes! I only kept on Vodafone as it was the only providor in the area I lived in Scotland, but now I don't need to go there any more, I don't need Voda, and they've not done anything to change my mind either on leaving them.

I don't have too much issue with talkmobile (which use vodafone network) in my area - better than the t-mobile signal.
Someone else in family has a vodafone phone and gets good signal on a HTC.
All depends where you are - signal varies for all networks I think based on location.
Inside big buildings, you will get disruption for any network.0 -
Could be worth getting a new sim from Vodafone, I had massive problems with signal on my iPhone 3gs and apple sent me to get a new sim card and this helped massively0

3G wise Vodafone is awful everywhere from experience. In Norfolk, 3G is non-existent on Vodafone out of Norwich.0

All my family and friends who are on Vodafone have noticed the same thing. Orange and Vodafone have really lost it lately - not sure why.
Either way, I've just moved to 3 and signal is far better for 3g.0 -
Hi Belnahua,
It's disappointing to hear that you are having some signal issues.
We are constantly improving the network and you can view all network upgrades we have planned here.
As you have already been referred to our Network Faults board, I would imagine that you have not found a known issue logged. You can follow the troubleshooting guide here and post to the team if you would like them to look into it for you.
Otherwise, we do also offer a device called Sure Signal which creates a 3G connection at your home address by connecting to your router.
Kind regards,
Heidi

Sorry to hop on this thread but is any of your problems to do with call dropping? My new HTC one s drops calls on 1 ring incoming and outgoing. Its fine when its set to gsm.
All i get told is 3g isnt very good in that area or try a new sim.0 -

No, it's just a problem getting a signal in the first place (and confirmed with my friend on HTC and Voda, we end up with nothing) Others on THREE or Orange have a 2-3 bar 3g signal. We have nothing!A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -

Hi,
Thank you for your reply, but see this is exactly why I am leaving Voda. Your network is dire wherever I go. Except central London. You keep pointing us to the forums, but to what good? And I already have a sure signal, which I paid for, and then find out you've been giving them away free!
I've repeatedly reported poor signal in many areas, even given screen shots. And I've had 3 different 3g phones now, and they've all been the same.
It's like you're either turning the base station power down, or just simply letting base stations fall into dis-repair.
This is a screen shot in a supposed good outdoor 3g area! Orange in the same location has 3 bar 3g.A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are.0 -
Hi Belnahua,
The reason we point you towards our eForum is because not only do we post all known network issues but if our customers are having problems with signal, the team can then escalate it directly to the networks team.
Thanks,
Heidi

Don't you people have a Chinese mobile operator in your country. Give them a try if Vodafone is doing such mishaps of over charging.0
