This will be the first year that i'll be taking my 2 daughters away as a single parent and i'm nervous. Really, really nervous! I'd appreciate any hints and tips on things to avoid and things to look for.
I'm open-minded about where we go. It has to fall within a very tight budget and i'm not too keen on large holiday resorts. The main preference is that its either AI or HB to avoid worrying about costs will there, that there's a kids club for them and a sandy beach for me!
Thanks

November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post.

We are a family of 4 and have gone to San Miguel Hotel and Beach Club in Puerto San Miguel Ibiza for the past 4 years. People return year after year and I have met several single parents whilst there. People there are very friendly. My daughter always loved the kids clubs (Thomson run) and often went 3 times a day but she's too old now. Hotel is adjacent to a very small pretty beach. If your kids are young there is an aparment block accross the beach with a pool that has small slides etc which you can visit and there is a bar with small mini golf (these are not part of the hotel though). There is a mini disco every night run by the hotel animation team and plenty of activities for kids throughout the day. It is an all inclusive hotel and food is good whith a choice of restaurants you can use.0

Sorry. Around £800 if its AI. Less if it's HB. Is it possible to have a nice holiday for that? I do hope so, as its desperatly needed.November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game. I am now an addict and thank everyone for taking the time to share and post.0

I have been looking at hols to majorca/ibiza/spain for next year for the 3 of us and they are coming out at around the £800 mark, but that has 'free' child spaces.
I'm a bit obsessive at looking at holidays at the moment, I'm going AI because then I don't have to worry about food and drinks.0 -
Thank you so much for your input.
I don't mind when i go. i'm applying for my youngests (she's 6 and my eldest is 10) passport on monday, so probably need a good 6 weeks for that to come through (and for me to lose a bit weight!). I quite like the idea of Spain too. I've always fancied going to Puerto Pollensa, Majorca. I'm not really into busy, loud places and this seems to be a excellent mix bag of good facilities and quiet old town.November wins...a book, a designer handbag (worth £550 :T) and a game.
