Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chatabout everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Up with the larks this morning, dd is off to work, and leaves here at 5.30 so I have to make sure she is up.

Not sure weather I will stay up, or nip back to bed, :D, I could stay up and get things done then nip back to bed this afternoon, we will see.

Dinner tonight will be brocoli / cauli cheese, with some nice crusty bread, looking forward to that.

Will strip the bed once OH is up and get that washed and on the line, and re make it, I managed to get 2 loads dry on the line yesterday :T

Got some its to list on ebay today, and some finishing, thats the best bit for me, watching them finish :o

At 10 this morning, its the local tiny boot sale, its my favourite one its normally great, with brilliant bargains :T

Lamwwolf, I loved the video of the dog with chew, she was one happy pup :D

Have good days all xx

Chilly & overcast here today, nothing much planned, today is hubby's only day off so I'll see what he wants to do.
Roast beef for dinner, I found some in the freezer when I defrosted it yesterday. My fingers are covered in plasters, what sort of moron designs a fridge/freezer with razor sharp edges on the bits that need cleaning!
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Hi everyone hope you dont mind if I join you today :)

Despite being the weekend I still wake up at 6.50 am... just before the time the alarm usually goes off during the week .. why is it that when I have to get up at that time for work its a real struggle and then on days off I'm wide awake !

Well its raining here again, so unless by some miracle it brightens up later I will be drying my washing indoors again. Have got to finish weekend clean later - bathroom still to do and hoover upstairs once my DS (16yo) emerges from the pit of darkness (or 11am.... if hes not up by then its tough !!)

Cooker blew up yesterday. After call to superhero dad I managed to change the cooker fuse and re-set the main fuse box so dinner was saved as the top oven and grill are working again. However the bottom main oven is no longer getting hot. With advice on other thread on mse and on-line video "how-to" I am going to have a go at replacing the element myself  but will have to give the oven a bit of a clean before I stick my head in it, so thats my main job for today.. bucket of hot water and stardrops ...what an exciting life I lead ;)

    Have a good sunday everyone

    Good morning all,
    Hester, ouch to your fingers.
Very overcast here again. Washing will have to go on the airer.
Hubby went and sorted the chickens out this morning so i had an extra hour in bed. I don't know why i bother really because i always end up with a headache if i sleep in.
I'll be joining hubby over the allotment in a little while. Bits and pieces to be getting on with over there. A mountain of ironing to do at some stage.
Dinner is chicken with potatoes, peas, carrots and runnner beans.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning RR and all who cross and follow.

HH hope your war wounds get better soon.

Dry here today so will do some more washing.

OH off to model railway exhibition again (yawn..) until about 1pm. Still he didn't go yesterday as a concession to a happy home life so we went to Wells, forgot it was a Bank Holiday weekend so there were some tatty fairground rides in the square and no market. Boo!

Tea is lamb leg steaks(whoopsied) with vegetables and roast potatoes. OH will hopefully cut the grass when he comes home as the blackbirds are getting lost in it!

Well need to put the washing on now.

Have a nice day whatever you are doing.

Morning all, it looks like the start of a lovely day outside here. Blue sky and the sun is shining. Washing machine is on all ready. Baking this afternoon, cookies, brownies and cakes. Might make a crumble also, and the garden needs abit of a weed. Enjoy your day all.

    Morning all

    Sun is shining here :)

I had a lovely day yesterday. I met the girls for lunch and wander round the shops. We decided we are going to have a Jubilee tea party at mine, so went round all the cheap shops buying Jubilee tat for it! :) I had a Royal Wedding one last year which was fun, so hopefully this will be good too. Then last night my friend came over and we went out for Thai food and then came back to mine for a gossip.

Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee and a wander by the sea this afternoon, and then going out for a few drinks tonight with another friend. Think I'll do the last few bits of my uni work this morning.

OS wise - WM been on with towels.

    Have a great day all

SUN.....!!!! Am highly jealous of all those with sun. Its so miserable and wet here that I am still in bed :o despite being awake since 6.50am. Must get up

abitofhelp... your post has inspired me to have a go at some baking. Have some carrots and apples to use up so am going to make some muffins. Dont have any sugar but have got some sweetner so am going to give it a go. May also make apple crumble nom nom. Wonder if I can make custard too.... off to find a recipe ...
