went to the r@nge today and spent 84 pounds. not very os but lots of bits and peices for the rooms that we have decorated. bought a bin and when i opened it after the 20 min drive home i realised that it was broken so i went up dun£lm and bought another bin. i could not wait i needed a new bin and WANTED IT TODAY!! anyone else like that??
hope you all have a lovely rest of the day. i love three day weekends. think were going to the coast tomorrow - just for fish and chips as it will be cold and we dont mind eating them in the car im only 35 mins from the sea so we often go up there. we eat our fish and chips and then have a little walk with coats and scarves on - that will prob be the case tomorrow.

Hello chums I'm back from my holiday and the second wash load has just gone on.I had a great time in Dorset even if the weather wasn't up to much The bungalow was beautiful(albeit down in the valley down a lane full of cow-muck but both my car and I survived it all:))I saw so many lovely places and met some smashing people. This time last week I was sitting by a log fire in Thomas Hardy's cottage whilst a lovely lady in costume read me a poem about a blackbird from one of his books. The garden there is so pretty, even though the rain was lashing down.We went to Charmouth (which I found very nice, lovely lemon cake in the cafe on the beach) and Weymouth where I snaffled a brand new Krups waffle maker in a charity shop for £6.00. Waffles will be on the menu for my grandsons I think:)
Yesterday on the way home we stopped at Shaftesbury where there was a food fair, and it was terrific and I bought some gorgeous cheeses of different flavours and my friend bought some veggie food to take home .We watched the little girls in the town square dancing round the Maypole and then watched the cheese race with strapping chaps carrying 25kg cheese up Gold Hill for a free pint of the local brew.So many things to see and do which cost very little yet are so entertaining. When we went to Lyme Regis we had a walk along the Cobb and it was the one really hot day so at least we did get a good bit of sea air.
The price of meat in Dorset was very expensive and how folk can eat it I don't know,I saw one leg of Lamb in Axminster for £32.00+ !!! it did look gorgeous but it stayed in the shop:).Lovely to have so little traffic about on the roads
I enjoyed my week away, but its time to get back to normality and start saving for my next holiday with the family in August in Sea Palling Norfolk.I'm now off to have dinner with DD and see my DGS and give them their little bits I brought home for them.No doubt I'll be back online tomorrow so see you all them
Cheers chums

Greetings fellow posters. Back from very cold trip to South Queensferry with the camera club. On the way there was a terrific hail storm and a 9-car pile-up about 5 minutes ahead of us :-( No bikes involved but the cars looked a sorry state so really hope noone was seriously hurt. I mention no bikes cos there were also tons of bikes on the road, with a big meet-up at SQ. We hadn't been there long before the skies opened so we dived into a coffee shop :P the sun came out just as we finished. charity shop was open and very nice waistcoat hanging in the window (now hanging in my wardrobe). OH was chilly (never wears enough!) so I bought an RNLI fleece i'd been toying with buying anyway and lent it to her. I said it's OK it's out of my pocket money. she said so long as you don't charge me rental. Now there's an idea... ;-) off to strim the lawn.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Sistercas love the eggs. I think I'll go do that - any excuse to not cut the jungle out there. Welcome home JackieO I remember reading through a thread suggesting food was more expensive in London. This is certainly not my experience. A lot of things are undoubtedly more expensive in London and the home counties, but not food. In Dundee we have no markets, no barrow-boys (barrow people?).MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Evening all, has been a lovely sunny day here so Jack and I have had 2 lovely dry walks. Washing has dried and DH has cut front lawn. Have cleaned kitchen and upstairs shower room and then did some quilting. So nice to be relaxed and not thinking about work tomorrow.
JackieO glad you had a good time you made me feel nostalgic as I lived in Dorset for a while when DS was little and had been to all the places you mentioned. My late Mum loved the place and we are going to dedicate a tree in a forest near Shaftesbury for her.Hope your hands heal soon HH and hugs to PenPin and her DH. Happy Birthday to Butterfly Brain's DS.
Have a good evening all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Happy Birthday to the young Butterfly Brain.
JackieO - Glad you have had a good holiday.
Left the house at 7.30 this morning to go over to Edinburgh. Met DS2 at the car boot sale and I bought a couple of really good things (and some books). One of them is a footstool that I got for £3.50 which I am using right now.
Went for lunch to a kind of noodle bar, DSs GF joined us along with another friend and lunch for the 5 of us was only £33 and we were stuffed! You get green tea free so that's what everyone had. Then had a wander, tood DS to the SM as he doesn't have a car and then came back. A lovely day but the weather was freezing and at one point it was sleeting!
Take care. XX0
