Could be latex allergy. I don't know whether elastic in knickers contains latex, but it's worth talking to your GP about it.

I managed to get some underwear for my daughter from Primark. They are in the slightly older range on hangers in twos. Most of them have a sort of tucked over, seemless top and leg area..hard to explain. Maybe worth a look. I Had to go up 3 sizes for my daughter. She's 6 but she has either 7-8 or 8-9. Hope this helps. x

GP is a must to get it looked at and noted down, maybe even a referral to a dermotologist if need be!

I would try boys pants. Tesco pants have no visiable elastic at all and all cotton worth a try if it is elastic which is causing the problem.

Have you tried her without underwear (at home) to see if it help/heals?

My daughter had similar when she was younger, especially so with knickers from Next.

We found the best ones for her are from Primark but they are a small sizing.

Have your daughter had chicken pox yet?(not that i think it is chicken pox) My youngest had a similar problem with a rash right where the shirt/T-shirt labels sits on the back. I went through the change soap/washine powder/fabric conditioner/cutting off labels etc with no joy so took to GP. It was shingles!! I honestly believed that only adults got shingles. That is why I asked about chicken pox.

My youngest was only a couple of years older than what your dd is !
Bit of a long shot I know, but it is possible
  • When washing underwear try putting through the machine a second time on the shortest possible cold wash to see if that helps.

It worked wonders in my home, even though I use non-bio and a vinegar rinse :)

Boden do lovely quality girls knickers. The elastic is totally covered and they would not rub at all. They are more expensive than M&S/ Primark etc but worth every penny as nice thick soft quality cotton. Toatlly different to ANY other girl's knickers I have seen.

As someone else suggested, it sounds like the labels could be irritating her?

I cut them out of alot of my clothes and my little boy's the same with them, it annoys me manufacturers make a nice piece of clothing and put a label in made out of irritating fabric?

    Happy moneysaving all.
