Please Help, 4yr old getting horrible grazing from knickers

My 4year old has got a great big red grazing on her lower back and bum from the back waistband of her knickers, they are all cotton and elasticated waist, I've tried all different sizes, going 1 year up, 1 year down, her size. Trying different styles eg Shorts & Boxers but nothing seems to be helping.

Because she is at nursery etc.. I cant let her go without underwear and putting cream on doesnt help when the next day its being agrevated again.

I am sure it is the waistband of the knickers but they've all got elasticated waistbands no matter what style I go for.

Nursery are having to keep writing down the grazing as its getting worse and DD is so uncomfortable, I really don't know what to do?

She cant wear trousers or shorts for the same reason so I have to put her in dresses/skirts and leggings or tights so I can pull them up over her tummy.

I did try her in boys pants as the waistbands are covered in cotton but she obviously doesnt want to wear them!

I'm at a loss of what to do, I tried google but it just came up with nappy rash which was no use!

If anybody has any ideas/suggestions or anything I would be really really grateful!

Sounds like an allergy to something in the elastic.. I'd let the GP take a look.. don't know why you haven't done that before to be honest..

Have you tried having her wear a vest tucked into her knickers, so the elastic doesn't chafe against her skin? I couldn't stand the elastic against my skin as a kid, and I did this till I was about 7 or 8 (although I didn't get any grazing, I just found it uncomfortable).

Our washing powder and fabric softener is always thae same so im sure its not that. She can wear elastic everywhere else and has no reaction to it which is why I didnt think it was an allergy, she doesnt get the markings around her legs, her stomach or her pelvis just her back. Maybe it is though I will take her to the GP and get them to have alook.

    Thank -you :)

Ive been trying to find some no-elastic underwear but am struggling to find any in the UK but will try and get some samples sent from the US to try for her.

I did try that but she has a very long torso so I struggle to find verst long enough that will stay in her knickers as soon as she bends or sits they pull straight out, is very tall and "stocky" for her age but if I got too many clothes sizes up for her the stuff just drowns her and trousers and shorts dont sit in her hips very well so she's constantly got a builders bum!

I found these, although they are pricey, maybe you could give it a try:

Take her to the doc though, to rule out a latex allergy.

Thanks Max, Ive just found a big section on Marks and Spencer for seamless knickers aswell, they are abit big but I am now going to go and grab some from the local M&S and ask her Dad to take her to the doctors for me on Monday if I can get an appointment. http://www.marksandspencer.com/Seam-Free-Girls-Underwear-Socks-Underwear-Kids/b/325846031?ie=UTF8&ie=UTF8?ie=UTF8&pf_rd_r=13YX02HCZ7B7M54FR7PW&pf_rd_m=A2BO0OYVBKIQJM&pf_rd_t=3901&pf_rd_i=101&pf_rd_p=213310627&pf_rd_s=left-2

Are you sure she doesn't scratch it? If she scratches it because she finds it annoying then that could be making it worse than it is. Of course if it is literally all the way round all the time then it's unlikely to be this. I'd agree with the suggestion of consulting the GP.
