Excel Parking Ticket Peel Centre Stockport

Hi

Seen a few bits of info knocking about on this but mine is as follows

Parked , next to the machine, got ticket, left it on the dash, but while away it must have blown off as I had left my sunroof open

Sent ticket and form supplied to get it scrubbed.

As you can imagine , got a reply today . I still owe £60?...

They have canned my appeal.

They have issued the normal pay now or it goes up then court suff.

I even said they should supply a sticky back with the ticket to ensure this does not happen to other peeps.

They addressed this but still say i broke their terms and conditions as I left the car with the ticket NOT visible. If i was going to do that ....what was the point in me even buying a ticket!...It blew off while i was away.

To pay or not to pay?......

As I have never had any sort of parking ticket ever!( i kid you not)

I wondered what I should do.

They have even kept my correspondence including my ticket....
Naturally I took scans of everything before I sent it.

I could do without the worry of this really.....I see lots of advice saying ignore them but is that REALLY the case?

many thanks

Moogie

    Yup. Ignore
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

They can pursue you for their actual losses only.

As you paid for a ticket, and have demonstrated this, you now legally owe them nothing whatsoever.

The fact that they are claiming you owe them £60 just goes to demonstrate that you are dealing with a bunch of scam merchants, who are hoping you don't know that legally you owe them nothing and simply donate £60 to their profits.

    Don't give them the satisfaction.

Ignore everything they send you, including the hollow threats about court and the like. Its all tosh, designed to scare you. They wouldn't risk court if their lives depended on it.

In fact, if they DO continue to send you threatening letters, you are perfectly within your rights to sue THEM for harassment.

And is not different from all the others you've seen.

So what? Breaking some arbitrary condition does not allow them to impose a contractural penalty, which is what this is.

That's an easy one. Don't pay.

Why is it a worry? As you said, you have seen these forums, and know what happens by reading them. Nothing. So no need to worry. Sure, you'll receive a load of letter from fake debt collectors and fake solicitors. But having read this forum, you're wise to it, and know it's all meaningless, and can be ignored with no worry.

Why would they allow your appeal ? Its cash in the bag to them, you are falling for it ! plus you gave them a bit of Psychology "Oh no They have the ticket" to bully you with.
This is a scam that impersonates authority, as they dont actually have any authority to fine or charge you anything, ignore them and all silly letters that follow impersonating other types of authority such as debt collectors and solicitors offering you legal advice and warnings.

I'd be very tempted to sue them and look to have it heard in Stockport CC, requesting the same judge that Excel insulted on national television.

A £100 harassment claim would be worthwhile.

You are dealing with people whose only objective is to part you from your money.

They have no interest in the rights or wrongs so it is impossible to win an argument with them. Hence, do not even try.

But ultimately, you must win, because they want your money but you are not going to give it to them. They will waste their money writing to you but get nothing back.

Treat them with the same contempt with which you would treat an e mail scammer telling you that he has $10 million and needs your help to get it out of his country. Their requests make as much sense, if you think about it.

Put their pathetic letters in a drawer and forget them.

Or, if you get fed up with their cheek, do as Alexis says and float off a little claim against them.
  • many thanks everyone.....will do as you say

altho I find nigerian, usa and indian generic scam mails much more amusing :rotfl:

so I have not done any damage replying in the first instance?...

moogie, dont know how ive missed you at the peel centre??? as i spend alot of time wandering the car park therfe and putting SCAM notices on cars with fake tickets on,,,,anyway worry not, you have not been fined as scum excell have NO LEGAL right to fine people,,only if you recieve a PENALTY charge notice on your car (issued by police/traffic warden) is legally backed,,,what you have is a PARKING charge notice=fake/con/scam/merely an unenforceable invoice which equates to loo paper and nothing can/will be done as a result,,so fear not , please read the stickies,as further threat o grams from roxburghe (we have zero powers) debt collectors and the phoney/ pretend solicitor,,graham white,,these two clowns are ALL PART OF THE SCAM,,,so ignore and from now on do not engage in dialogue/reply to them,,similar scam operates on newbridge lane at aldi (parking eye) another scamster firm at work.
