He might be resenting not the fact that his clothes are un-ironed, but the fact that you complain that they aren't ironed and he might feel that unjust given that he might not have cared one way or the other whether or not his clothes were crumple-free and didn't like you imposing your standards on him.

Yes. I hate ironing and won't do it. I hang all my wet clothes on a clothes dryer, or on the radiator, in such a way that I *believe* I can get away without ironing. My Mum HATES this. We've agreed to disagree. :p

I had a boyfriend once, who hated ironing so much that when he really was desperate for a crumple-free shirt, he would put on the water heating, he'd have to wait half an hour till it was hot enough. Once it was he'd then place the shirt on a hanger beside his shower. He'd then turn on the shower (hot) and let it run, till it had steamed the creases out of his top:-) This whole process took loads more effort than simply ironing the shirt in the first place.

We both did our own ironing and shared our son's. Having said that we both hated it and recently found a local company that does ironing, so it all goes there. OK it costs on average £10 per week but frees up our time to do other things
  • We both work, have two teenage children. I do EVERYTHING around the house and garden. I iron my stuff and the kids but after I have done laundry I put hubby's stuff on the bed unironed. I see no reason why I should do it.
