Trying to get pac code from Three! Gah!!

I've got a 24 month contract with Three and I can upgrade from the 25th May, however last week my phone broke and so now I'm having to use a really crap K660i. So i've been looking at the Samsung Galaxy s2 and I found a really good deal through Tesco Phone Shop on O2 for £21.50. Three want £25 a month plus £29 for the phone. Today I called Three and told the woman I wanted my pac code due to finding this deal and no signal in my house and a broken phone. Valid excuses or so I thought. She said that the offer through Tesco Mobile wasn't valid and that once i'd signed up with them instead of being charged £21.50 my bills would be £27 as stated on the O2 website, is this right or is she feeding me a load of crap. She also said she send me something to install at home that would boost the signal for free even though it was very expensive to buy. She also said that because I was using an old phone she would put me on a roilling contract from June that is £12 a month with 300 mins 5000 texts and 1gb of data. I am planning on not being with 3 by june. So i came away without the pac code feeling more confused than I did before gah!!!

So anyone know if I signed up with O2 through Tesco mobile will it be £21.50 a month or more. I am going to have to call back again now poo.

I would have thought if the deal was advertised at £21.50 they would honour it. Order confirmation should be key.

I am about to request PAC from Three also as I can get a Note cheaper on O2.

From what I gather, OFCOM says that a PAC must be given to you immediately over the phone or within 2 hours by text on request of it.

Just called them again and tried to be abit firmer with them, told them I had already changed contracts. The man started spouting off again about how Three were better than anyone else and that the offer through Tesco mobile wasn't correct and that after 4 or 5 months I would start to be charged £27 instead of £21.50. I spoke to a woman at Tesco mobile who said that this wasn't the case. He still wouldn't give me the pac code until 25th May which is when I can cancel my three contract. He almost cut me off when he realised I wasn't going to stay with them. didn't get time to say goodbye!! Grr I am begining to not like Three very much.

Tesco would have to honour the deal they show, no network would just put the price up without telling you (unless it was clearly stated in the advert). Three's retention team are quite aggressive in their selling. They can provide a booster for use indoors (uses internet), but ultimately if you can get a better deal elsewhere, then there is no reason to stay. With the retention team, just be firm, don't get involved in a discussion about things, and insist on them providing a PAC code. It usually arrives by text shortly after the end of the conversation (I've ported from Three a couple of times).

Should have also said that OFCOM says a PAC can be requested at any time, in your case if you use your PAC they will bill you until the 25th June if you use it before the 25th May (I am assuming the 25th May is one month before the end of your contract period)

    This might be of use

Is he hoping that I will forget to get the pac code and just carry on with the contract?

Has anyone had any sucess from writing to the to ask for their pac code?

I got mine yesterday after haggling with them for an hour. I got annoyed in the end and just insisted that I wanted it. They just kept offering me things I told them I did not want and would not give me what I did want. I was offered £5 a month off one of their website deals on a phone I did not want I got a call off them again today offering me exactly the same deals that anyone can buy from their website, They would not give me £5 a month off a phone I did want so I just told them no and not to ring me back.

It's pretty easy, you call and ask for a PAC, and they have to provide it under OfCOM guidelines regardless of the amount of contract left (however it you've not hit the minimum term using it will get you an early termination fee)

However, like most companies they will try and retain you with offers, if you want to leave (rather than trying to haggle) just keep saying no and ask for the PAC. Three are know for hard sell so be prepared to say no a lot.

Don't complicate matters by giving them details of other companies they can match or reasons why you want to leave, just keep asking for the PAC and nothing more.
