  • Hello Quentin

MoneyMiser is right, I called the 01244, thats just reception and they won't transfer you they just give you the 0845 number, I called that and they said the application takes around 8-10 minutes, which works out at a maximum of 50p, now I know this is for money saving tips but I think I can afford that.

    Thanks anyway Quentin,

    Kind regards

    Hi again Quentin

Just tried this number and they just give you the 0845 number to call!!!

    Sneaky!?!

I tried that number and they acted a bit confused about why I'd 'come through reception' but put me through anyway. Might not get away with it next time...but can but try!
  • when was this beacuse I only called half an hour ago? and they just gave me the number.

It is the switchboard - ask them firmly to put you through to the "right" department to find out about "the wireless router".

  • Quentin behave, that’s a reception number, the same girl keeps picking up, it’s not a switch board. Just be careful, you’re telling readers of this forum to bully a receptionist for doing her job just to save a maximum of 50p,

Is the free hardware not enough!

it's just not worth it people, I would advise calling the 0845 number this way there is no hassle or waiting time.

    not cool quentin, not cool:p

    Not bullying her at all.

We don't like 0845/0870 numbers - thought you knew that!!
  • Hi Quentin

listen no offence but it was you who challenged the fact there even was a wireless router and have now proceeded to give out a number which not a free phone number it is a reception number who nothing to do with the deal.

    That's bad advice my son.

MS.com (where the deal is from) are already a free service.

be careful which numbers you suggest, and "be firm" that’s pushing it isn't?
That poor woman in reception is going to get bombarded with calls when all she can do is give the correct number out.

as I said not cool my man.

I gave the number in answer to another poster who asked for it.

That number does circumvent the 0845 number.

Everyone reading this thread now knows they will be connected to a switchboard first.

The switchboard can put the call through to the right department.

There is no problem - unless you work for moneysavers.com, and are worried about the loss of revenue???

When you say that moneysupermarket is free you seem to be suggesting they do it for love, when in fact they get commission for all the customers they find as well as revenue from their 0845 numbers.
  • Oh dear, tut, tut, tut.

Once again it is not a "switchboard" it is a reception, I work for Cheshire county council, thank you.

Try the number then, go on! See what happens, my theory is some smart !!!! gave out the number for reception to a company which I like and use, now they just give you the number and refuse transfer, Nice one:T

oh and if you bother to check the 0845 rate, it's a standard rate,

Which MEANS=the user is charged for cost incurred to the network provider,

0845's are used so the business using does not have to fork out anything but nore do they gain unless the rate is 7p or more, which it is not.

    so in summary:

MS.com - make no profit form the number it's just a "Face" number

The 01244 is a receptionist who will just give you the number anyway despite how much you want to push her for 50p

If we followed your advice and not money miser's we wouldn't even know about the free offer.

    stay cool:cool:
