I have flights where the return has been cancelled but not the outbound. Does anyone know if I will get a full refund for both flights?
Is there an alternative to the 09 number which will no doubt cost a fortune to call?

Shame they have cancelled though. Always thought the service and flights were ideal.

I'm another one in the same situation. I called bmibaby the day after the news broke, and they have agreed to refund both the outbound (which is still operational) and the return (no longer operational). However, I suspect the refunds will be dealt with differently, as I have only had one part refunded at the moment.
I also have a friend who is using her outbound (again, return no longer operational) and she called and was reassured that her outbound flight seats will not be cancelled by bmi baby.

So if you want your outbound flight refunded, you're going to have to call bmibaby.

eta - if you go on saynoto0870.com, there are several alternative local charge numbers for bmibaby listed.

saynoto0870.com - tried this but it only had contact info for BMI. I called non the less and tried to get transfered, provided with a geographical land line, asked to speak to a supervisor etc. No Joy. The man in the overseas call centre was sticking to his guns.

I eventually caved and called the expensive number. Got a bit of a run around as my card had expired. This call centre referred me to call 01332 856768 (try all the options - you never know). However whilston phone my foreign friend called back as he was now able to assist. My mobile recorded this number as the inbound - 01793368600.
Try asking to be called back because aparently they do have the ability.

Still waiting for the refund. The call centre man would not/could not email me confirmation of the cancelled flights. He could not confirm when I would get my money back. Fingers crossed I do not need to call them again as I love the flights but not the customer service when things go wrong.

Mike I phoned them on Tuesday (on the expensive number). I asked which part of my booking had been refunded so far (on 11th May), they said it was the return (ie the flight they have cancelled). I told them again that I couldn't use the outbound leg, which was still operating, as I can't get a flight back into East Mids. They again confirmed that they'd refund my money for this onto my card. The money was refunded yesterday, in full :). I didn't have to hang on for long at all when I first called them on Tuesday either, 5 minutes maximum I'd say from start to finish.

I received a letter yesterday (after claiming the right to re-routing) from bmibaby confirming that they will meet the difference in the fare that I booked with them and the fare I have paid to re-book with another airline if I send details of the new flight and costs:

I was flying to Amsterdam from Birmingham in June, both the flight there and return were cancelled.

After following the advice on here (the forum rather than the web site), I called and asked them to re-book me with alternative flights. They wouldn't offer that option, only a refund and therefore I re-booked on KLM. I wrote to them asking for the full price of these tickets, referring to EU legislation 261/2004.

Yesterday I received a letter with a cheque for the full amount, including payment for the registered letter I'd sent.

Very pleased with the outcome, many thanks to those that gave advice on here.

I too have now been promised a full refund if I send appropriate invoices to BMI. This is better than expected after 2 useless phone calls. Will post when I get the refund!:)

After sending appropriate receipts etc to BMI, I now have a full refund and they paid the difference between my cancelled flights and the new ones with Jet2. I think in this case it pays to be persistent and to quote EU legislation 261/2004!:)

Well done MarieV. I am currently in the process of pursueing this myself. I am sending a Printout of the Booking Confirmation from Jet2.com detailing the prices etc. I'll update as soon as I hear any news.
