Can only use the railcard on the one day off peak (after 9.30am Mon - Fri, any time weekend) travelcard.
Not seen that you can buy on line anywhere.

See post 68 about 4 up from this one to see how to get a discounted one day travelcard from East midland rail site also works on Southwest train site and should be available from your local station, not Underground stations though.

Three of us are going from Leeds to London twice in July and we've already bought the tickets, preferring to buy the railcard just before we go. As it is, no need (just yet!).

Here's my top tip for a good day out.

Don't forget the discount applies to the already set cheap advance tickets too.

Get your older teenagers the discounted one day travel card... Discount applies to you travel card too.

The travel card then unlocks a further discount on the tfl advertised river ferries that are really comfortable.

So take everyone along the river past the sites to Catty Sark ... Then get the new DLR back to the centre... A space age trip through the docklands connecting back onto the underground.

If time take 10 mins at Cutty Sark to walk under the river Thames in the passenger only tunnel there. It got mine talking!

I have just registered and used the passwords FRIENDS and FAMILY the words need to be in upper case to be recognised

I didn't use capitals and mine still went through. I did this last year and my card from last year doesn't expire until august, but well worth doing to get the 50%! I'm pretty sure there was no confirmation email last year, i ended up doing it twice and ended up with 2 cards!!
